setup for pager on CUSE²
« on: February 24, 2007, 12:43:05 PM »

Hello friends,

I need your help.
Today, I've mounted a security system pager #91665-03.
I've the operations manuel for the explanation of the setup and encoding the pager receiver.
Problem : The explanations concern a key FOB with button.
I've not button on my Key fob (2007 model).

Is somebody able to send me the correct procedure ?

Thanks

Jacques.

Here is the story...
Our "Flagship" CVO bikes do not come with the Smart Siren II which is needed to make the Pager operate.
Go see your friendly Dealer and get the siren. They can supply you with the procedure for coding the pager to your Security System.

Thanks for your reply, Brad, you are the first ! :2vrolijk_21:

I need not the Smart siren II because I've intalled the model "The Harley-Davidson® Security System Pager with Range Confirmation Signal offers advanced paging surveillance." See the pic.
In the kit is included the transmitter to the pager.

Probably, it's necessary to ask the help to the dealer for the setup with the 2007 Models.

My mistake. I assumed the Pager II was being installed.
We have not installed the old pager into a '07 yet.
I assume the procedure to encode the pager to the system will be similar.
Instead of pressing the Fob button, you will be required to turn off the ignition and wait for the system to "arm", this is the same as pressing the Fob button.
I will check back here tomorrow from work. I have the complete coding procedure available to me there....

You may need this instead?

Harley-Davidson® Security System Pager Receiver II

Designed to complement the Smart Siren II, this pager Receiver can be linked to the vehicle with no additional installation. The Page Receiver II monitors the Security System operation, and features multi-color LED indicators to display unique codes for arming, disarming and trigger modes. The Range Conformation Signal (RCS) confirms and displays the signal reception. Hi-efficiency FM circuitry provides excellent reception, even in buildings and parking garages. Maximum effective range is up to 1/2 mile. The Pager Receiver II features selectable vibration or audible modes. The silent paging mode feature allows selectable programming trigger modes to avoid activating the siren. The convenient built-in ultra-bright white LED flashlight helps light the way. The compact, lightweight receiver can be carried in your pocket, or clipped to a belt up to 1-3/4 inches wide. Kit includes receiver, holster, and one 3V lithium battery. Operates in conjunction with the Security System Fob and Smart Siren II.

Jacques...what you have is the old transmitter/pager system.  Did you order this new?  If so, and I were you, I would exchange it for the newer Smart Siren II and pager.  You'll actually save money...you just replace the old Siren with the new Siren II.  From what I read before doing this on mine, the old system did not hold up well.  The new pager is a tiny little thing that will fit in a watch pocket.

Just a thought, my friend.

Dears,

It's a new old transmitter than I bought on EBAY.
So, it's not possible to send back for an exchange, thanks for this proposal.

If I've the confirmation that this model run not on the '07, sure I need to change this.
I wait the answer from Brad (igofar).

Sorry I took so long. I was trying to confirm the old pager will work on an '07.
Sort answer is "not sure, can't think of a reason why not."

As far as encoding your pager to the system, whereever it says "push button on fob," that means for you to turn the ignition off and wait for the system to "arm."

Good luck

PS. I know the Pager II and Smart Siren II will work on the '07......

Thanks for your reply, Brad.

Me too, I think that it's no reason.
It's only the way for to encode the pager with a key FOB without button.
I'll test your suggestion with the ingnition.

Brad,

Sorry, I've not put the result but it's run by this way :

As far as encoding your pager to the system, whereever it says "push button on fob," that means for you to turn the ignition off and wait for the system to "arm."

Thanks again,
Jacques
