Triple tree wind deflector
« on: December 15, 2014, 02:04:00 PM »

I have 800 miles now on my '15 CVO Street Glide.  Since most of those miles were in 40-50deg, I have determined I need a little more wind protection.  For one, I am 6' and I need to have a taller windshield.  I have to slouch a little to get comfortable behind the 7" shield so I am thinking about a 10".

Here's my question:  I had a Kuryakyn triple tree wind deflector on my 09 ultra and can't seem to find one for the '15.  It looks like the three mount holes that were there on previous years are now gone.  I get quite a bit of wind coming up through the triple tree between the tank and fairing.  Any ideas?

Are we talking windshields or triple tree wind deflectors?  I could find the latter at those vendors, at least not on their web sites.

I saw it on the RG forum or facebook. The have a new triple tree deflector out the the newer bikes. I have the one I took of my '11 and will see if I can mod it to fit the '15. This is not a dog dish style like what Kury has sold. It's a thick piece of extruded plastic that puts the air down. Out of sight, out of mind but works great.

I don't see it up on their site yet though.

Found it on fleabay. Not as sleek as the pre Costmore bikes but I'm sure still very effective.

Yeah, I did see that one.  Sorry but that's kind of ugly and I think I'll deal with the wind.

Not having much luck on this yet. I'll just have to keep my eyes open for something.

I realize your bike is a 2015 and this is just a idea if it would work.
Fro some reason my Sg came with a RG wind baffle or what ever it is called. It really helps in the winter. It cuts a lot of the air out. you can remove it simple enough. It fastens to the engine guard and the fuel tank bolt on the frame. If that has not been changed it should fit. You won't notice it it blends right in with the bike.

I only use it in the  cooler or cold weather riding months.
As afar as wind shields go I am using a 8 inch flat top recurve by lrs and it is the best one I have ever had in my 50 years of riding.

I did a search on google for more photos of the flat top. Well look at who's the first photo. LOL

I bought a Harley Triple tree wind deflector and modified it to work on the 15CVOSG ... about a 1/2 hour total labor and looks awesome ... trimming with dremel ... sanding and painting it with gloss black paint ...next time to the powdercoaters ... re-drilling hole location to match up with plastic retainer that holds the brake lines to the triple tree itself...wire ties to secure cover and done ...

I just got one in the mail today to put on mine. The pix on ebay are from a bat wing. The one I have is a light tint. I'll post up a pix once I install it.
