Title: Gear drive cams for 103
Post by: hd-dude on March 11, 2006, 12:20:45 AM
First of all welcome to the site!! Second if you look in the Zippers forum they are coming out with a bolt in cam for the 103. Freedom cycles also has a bolt in cam for the 103 as well. These cams by both companies are meant to be a direct bolt in replacement for our motors. I know of other people that have used and Andrews 55g and a S&S 575 with good results. I am not ready to do mine yet but will be waiting on the Zippers product and the Freedom Cycles product before I make the change as they are designed for the 103's.

PS: and so your properly initiated....we need to see pics of your scooter because... [smiley=worthless.gif]

Mack the Zippers cams have been tested and have been ground. They are at the heat treat process right now and should be ready in 2 weeks. The cams produced a very good TQ cruve and will be a very good bolt in cam. It is called THE RED SHIFT 575.

OH AND BTW WELCOME TO THE SITE stick around you will love this place!

You may want to think about a Woods 400g , here's a dyno

If you give Bobby a shout he will give you his recommendations based on your needs and setup, he's a great guy.

I put an S&S570 in mine with a cometic .030 head gasket and I'll have to say it runs awfully well.  Much improved over stock cams.

In a stock 103 this cam is not even an option. A lot of people are looking for just a bolt in replacement cam to do away with the cam chains and tensioners. That is where Freedom Cycles and Zippers products come in. They have produced a bolt in option for the factory CVO 103 motor.
