2015 CVO Street Glide
« on: July 14, 2015, 10:16:02 AM »

Just picked up my 2105 CVO Street Glide last Saturday and so far I am loving it. Not real happy with the seat any suggestions? I have a hammock seat has anybody tried that on a street glide? How about exhaust change out?

Hey Mike,

Lots of info on both questions here on the site.  I'll answer on the seat.  Again, lots of options but I went with the Sundowner dual tour model from HD two years and 20,000 miles ago and still love it.  Wasn't out much moola and I utilized the loaner/demo seat program riding on the demo for a week before purchasing.  That saved me quite a bit as most aftermarket folks won't let you return a custom made seat.  I've had three Corbin seats on various bikes over the years and like them for looks and build quality.  I just didn't want to spend another $700 to $1,200 on a seat this time around.

Pipes?  I went with the gutted/de-catted stock header because I like the stock look.  Fulsac is the best all around choice for performance and keeping that stock look.

Good luck and congrats on the new bike.  Love dem street glides.....however, my eyes are beginning to wander a bit toward something in Abyss blue and a fixed faring...... ::)

So far, I like the new seat as well. We'll see as the miles add up.

Corbin and Mustang are probably the most popular aftermarket seat replacement. Never rode on a bike with a hammock seat.

So many options for a stage one exhaust upgrade. I added a Fullsac DX header with a pair of Rinehart 4" mufflers. Sounds good, not to loud, has a little bark when you get on it.

Do you have a SESG.  IF so there is a way to put a backrest on the stock set setup.  Even thought Harley does not list one.  I can post pics if you like.  It is using Harley parts so it matches, just adding a few hardware store pieces to make it work.

You asked for it, so here it is.  I do not take credit for this,  someone else showed it to me. But it was a stroke of genius, to say the least.  It looks like its is factory until you inspect it closer.

You will have to go to the hardware store and buy the turnbuckels, bolts, washer and acorn nuts but it will be less than $20 in parts.  This is made using the standard CVO Street Glide back passengers backrest just assembled backwards and put on backwards.  The turnbuckles are 2-3 inches long with 1/4 20 eyebolts some nuts and washers.  You can adjust the backrest forwards and backwards using the turnbuckles.  Images to follow:

I'll buy the stock seat from you if it's still in factory new condition.
