Wiring Tour Pack and Intercom
« on: June 17, 2015, 11:32:26 AM »

Anyone use quick disconnect fittings when they added a tour pack with turn signal lights to an 09 SERG ?

Yes I did. Bought male/female Molex and appropriate clips and put the connector under the seat. Encased wires in correct size smooth automotive wiring flex tube thru bottom of tourpak thru a rubber grommet to weather seal.  All t/p wires stayed under the metal base in the channels inside the t/p.
When you wanted it off, just raise seat, uplug and wiring all stayed with the t/p, the connector was the only thing under the seat that stayed on the bike. I had a LED tube on the back of chrome tourpak rack that I ordered from Radiantz the correct length with run/turn (turn split in middle) and a longer led tube just below the edge of lid on the back that was run/brake and added a Custom Dynamics controller just in front of connector under seat that Strobbed all of them on brake activation. Took me about half a day but it worked great. And when you took tourpak off, only the one plug and the two tourpak connectors on the mount and bike was back to solo.

Okay I know it's easier to buy a Road Glde Ultra, but has anyone added CB, Intercom and rear speakers wiring to a Road Glide Custom?

If so, can you share your insight?

I'm thinking of ordering the CB module to add on the radio and then the Non-Ultra-Overlay harness but I think my limit will be adding more wires to the handlebars. The comm harness seems straight forward enough not having actually seen it.

I'd really appreciate any help with this major mod if anyone cares to share.

Thanks

Asked over at the RG Forum, and I wanted to try here still.

Has anyone added a tour pack to either a Road Glide or Street Glide and had the CB and Intercom added for the passenger so it is like an Ultra version?

Lights alone are easy enough, but adding the other isn't as straight forward that I can find info on.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have done the tour-pac with speakers but not the intercom.
Wired mine so the run/brake lights are now run/signals and milled out the center of the light bar to install LED's for a third brake light with a stainless steel laser cut "Screamin Eagle"

Cool.

Order all the wiring harness and hidden antennas today so as soon as I get it all in from HD then the fun begins, also waiting on my tour pack from the painter so it should all come together soon.  :bananarock:

Next up will be the wheels and suspension.  :)

That sounds awesome !! Would you happen to have a pic of the back with the brake light on ? Also, love the colour match seats and backrest. Very sharp looking.
