10" Freedom Shield
« on: July 05, 2015, 09:15:22 AM »

Problem: Air hitting my neck so bad that it makes me wanna burn down the bike and return back to RK CVO 2014
Attempted solution: Wind Splitter 10" 57400206 = not working
Working solution: 10" Freedom Shield. Excellent!

Should try out Klock wreks flares, they work and look awesome! While also applying down force on front end making bike more stable.                           http://www.kustombaggers.com

:2vrolijk_21: for Freedom Shields... I've used this shield and LRS and have very good success. I currently have a 7" LRS and I'm 6'1, and gets the job done... Better than stock...

Do you look over or through the 10" shield?

Depends how I sit. If straight up looking over. Just waiting to get Grasshopper's riders backrest this/next week which probably forces to sit straight.

I started with 7' too short, bought 8 and have 11 on the way.  I just can't get one size to work correctly with 3 different helmets.
John at Freedom recommended the 11 for the 3/4 and full helmets.

They are quality products.

This.  :2vrolijk_21:   Regardless of which helmet. I look over the top. had the 8" and was too tall.  Had a 10" on 2005 but wanted shorter this time.

Freedom Shield is a quality product. It solved my problem and does not vibrate like the Klockwerks I had on my last bike.  The thickness of the freedom shield is the difference maker for me.  Added benefit is My stereo sounds great now.

I have a 8" tinted Freedom Shield on my 09 Street Glide and I am impressed with it compared to the HD stocker. It comes to about the height of the bottom of my nose and it punches a nice hole in the air. There is no vibrating at all.

Another positive for Freedom shields.  Used them on the '12 and have one on my '15 SERGU.  The optics through this shield are second to none in clarity.  The thickness and polished edge create a finished touch that no other screen can touch.  The great, fast, knowledgeable, friendly and thorough customer services is icing on the cake.  This last shield I ordered on a Friday that I really needed by the following Wednesday so I could install in preparation for a S.D. trip two days later.  The day I ordered it, John said the shield was in process of being made but guaranteed it would make it to me in time.  It did:  a day earlier than expected.  Plus, they do as they state and block/redirect the wind making those 500 mile plus days much more tolerable.

You made a great choice, terv.... :2vrolijk_21:

Also, if you're having trouble finding that perfect size, Windvest offers windshields in 1" height increments with the recurve.
