Street Glide Leather Bra
« on: January 16, 2016, 08:15:21 PM »

I bought my brother this leather bra for his 2016 CVO Street Glide any comments? I am hoping it will protect the paint during "gravel season" out here in Pennsylvania.

Back when those were popular for cages (cars) I had one on a car and it ended up damaging the paint. Ever since then I have been reluctant to use that technology to protect paint. You may want to consider some of the other ways to protect the paint... for instance something like this that is in our vendor discount board - Check out Motorcycle Armor's Clear Bra Kits for Harley-Davidson Bikes.

If he doesn't like his paint color it will definitely help hide a lot of it.

I just had my whole bike done with a similar product. Fairing, Lowers, Upper fork covers and beer cans, bag tops and fronts, Tank and side covers. Dealer wanted $1200.00. The installer came to my house and did it for a little over $500.00. I have had a similar product on a car for 10 years, and the stuff works great. You have to look really close to even notice it.

Dood is right I too ran these years ago on cars and trucks. All ended up with the paint scuffed from fluttering at high speeds.  Would not consider anything but the clear motorcycle armor on my bike.

I say just leave it. Wash and wax. Yes you will get a little stone chip or two. Get the paint touch up. Today's paint matches up real well. You have such a beautiful paint job why cover it up. :nixweiss:

I have over 122 000 KM on my scoot. Looks just fine. :2vrolijk_21:

You have to take them off the vehicle EVERY day for the accumilated moisture to dry, otherwise they will cause the paint to literally "fade" and breakdown due to sweating. On this part you have to at least take the windshield screws out and the headlamp as well to install / remove. Lot of work every day even for what ever gravel season is (we don't have that one here).
