New Owner
« on: July 04, 2015, 09:42:36 PM »

That day came and went, i picked up my new 15 CVO SE Streetglide from York PA on Wednesday, only a couple of miles from the factory were it was built, the born date was 6-4-2015.  Traded in my tried and true 03 Anniversary electraglide with over 100K on the odometer.  Up until the day i picked up the new bike, i was back and forth with trading in the 03, lots a memories on that bike, i rode it in all but 8 states of the US,  i knew every nook and cranny, and all the quick fixes to any quirks that would happen.  But i knew it was time to say good bye.

While the look of the dressers have not changed that much the 15 CVO is a totally different bike than my 03.  I put over 130 miles on it riding it home i live in Maryland and the dealer is about 80 miles taking the quick route, but wanted to adhere to break-in so i took the scenic road route 30 to route 15, and back roads back home.

As i type this the bike now has about 250 miles :huepfenjump3:, and I'm starting to get use to the different riding characteristics.

Things i love:

the look and paint (starfire black with gold dust flames) :cherry: :cherry:
love the low end grunt of the 110 and clutch and 6spd :2vrolijk_21:
love the handling feels really planted in the curves
radio is simply ridiculous with the amount of sound it puts out (though may take a month to master all the features) but like the XM radio, bluetooth audio, and NAV
love the saddlebags much easier to use
heat management appears to do its job, although cutting off the rear cylinder seems to happen to fast
no pinging when it gets hot and power is always smooth
love the extra gallon of fuel
lower vents really work

things I'm still getting use to:

gas cap
for some reason I'm always depressing the trip meter button
sound of stock mufflers (i heard the sound gets a little louder and deeper after 1000 miles)
people ogling over the bike (not as comfortable leaving it in a parking lot, maybe just a new bike thing) :coolblue:
what to do with the CVO gold/brass key
big smile when riding it, and the back in forth to the garage to get another look at it :coolblue:

Well planning to hook up with my main riding buddy tomorrow and put some more miles on it, he doesn't know i bought a new bike so he will be surprised when i show up :cherry:

Got a good deal on the bike and a free 1000 mile service too....

A nice letter, filled with emotions every Harley rider goes through at least once in his/her life.
I felt the same way when I lost my EG Ultra classic, but I only had 40k miles on her when it was totalled.  Memories I'll always have and cherish, and isn't that what it's all about?  You'll be making lots of new memories on your new SG, and it sounds like the new bike has found a good home!  I'll bet your old one does, too.
