Plexus is terrific for plastic but it has nearly tripled in price over the last few years.  I still use it for our plastic windshields, though.

If you need a can of Plexus, I've got one sitting on the shelf in the garage I'll send you.  I'll have to clean off the dust and such from where it's sat so long.... ;D

I use "Goof off" and "turtle wax detailer". Almost any detailer will do. Also bought a 4lb. bag of painters rags. Works great all over bike. :pineapple: :pepper:

The Jeep and Boating community uses 303 Aerospace Protectant on all their plastic parts. I have been using on the lowers and everything plastic or leather and it works great. Not greasy or shiny and lasts for months. It has "Powerful UV Protection"SPF 40", and better yet no silicone that will eventually dry out plastic and vinyl. I get mine on ebay.

Another thumbs up for the Lemon Pledge.  I carry a small can with me on all trips.  I've used it for years...dang stuff can be used on everything.  Cleans/protects and shines....gotta use the aerosol version.  Pump bottle doesn't work as well.
I have to admit when I first read your recommendation for Pledge... well lets just say I smiled.  :) BUT I have now used it several times and I really like the stuff! Haird you are the best! The stuff works on everything. Definitely going to take a can with me on all trips. Perfect waterless solution for bugs and all. Thanks for the info!

VRT works wonders on Vinyl and tires it is never oily although Adams now has a new tire treatment that I haven't tried yet. I should try it on my seat, never thought of that.

you may find it hard to believe but peanut butter does a good job !  rub it on then rub it off.  The oil in it leaves a good finish.  It's also good at getting residual polish off the black plastic.
cheap as well ......peanut butter !

I like Aerospace 303.  It works really well on vinyl or leather seats also and has no silicone in it.  Cleans and protects and resists dust well.  Use it on my boat seats and dashboards of the cars also.  It's some high tech quality stuff!

if you go over to the hdforums site and look for user sta-bil and send them a pm with your name and address, they will send you out a sample box containing 2 bottles of cleaner, 2 bottles of 303 protectant, 2 bottles of octane boost, and 2 bottles of fuel stabilizer (and maybe something else, i don't remember).  sure they are small bottles, but they are a good size to carry on the bike on a short road trip (weekender, couple/three overnights, etc).
