Speedometer shield
« on: May 19, 2014, 03:37:39 PM »

Has any one had trouble with the sun glareing on speedometer, making it hard to read. Looking to see if anyone is using a cover or shield.I know Harley sells one but it does notseem to cover much.

Have not seen one for this.  We are not using anything. Just had its 10k service and all is going well!

Haven't noticed any sun glare problem, but I think the sun has only shined a couple days in Michigan.  Riding to the Harley Museum this weekend.  The forecast look good.

Yep, took a four day trip the past weekend, and driving north on the first day, a lot of glare.  But boy that stock seat beat me up bad.  I could ride 600 miles a day with my Heritage, but after 100 miles on tis bike, I'm squirming in this saddle!  I have to deal with this seat, or I'll be buying a Honda!  :o

I am still not happy with the seat,I don't have much of an ass and I need the pocket deeper. I had the same problem with my streetglide and had the front made higher so it kept me in the pocket. I think I will do the same with this one. I ride two up most of the time that's why I don't use the stock seat.I keep riding up on the tank.

Tele I think you are on the right track.  My last bike, a 2008 anniversary heritage softail was very comfe.   I could ride 500 miles, no problem!  I thought buying a CVO, the seat could only be better  >:(

My seat is a sundowner ,pushs me forward. I went to dealer today and sat on a regular Heritage seat. It fits a whole lot better. They ordered me one should be on the bike this week.

I did the same.  Much more gush in those seats!  Not sure how the passenger portion will fit.  Quoted me $550 for both the driver and passenger seat.  Almost ordered.  But I thought I would open my seat, remove some foam, install some jel pad and recover and see.
Let me know how you like the heritage seat after you ride a few miles.

Hi folks you will also find that with the heritage seats it will give you a little bit more leg room and the passenger pad gives a little lower back support not a lot but enough to help a little on the longer rides hope this is helpful to you all.

did you put this seat on a 2014 softail deluxe?  If so, can you post pictures?
