Please give us a full report...............and pictures.
Let's start by saying I too waited about five weeks to get my bars. At 4 weeks we did some follow up and found out the powder coat was not up to F47's standards and they sent them back to get redone. Once I got them home, I was very impressed with the packaging. They were first wrapped in plastic wrap, then the corners and ends got a thicker, foam wrapping, followed by bubble wrap, then put into the box. All of the welds are finished very nicely.
Prior to the install, I ordered the wiring extensions from NAMZ. I opted for the entire replacement harnesses instead of the extension, since the wiring has a connector inside the hand controls. Just a cleaner result imo. I also did the 12 inch extension for the tbw harness. Brake and clutch lines were from Harley, I believe +6. Also picked up the HD Burst grips and poly bushings from Arlen Ness.
Install was fairly straight forward. It's the third set I've done, so I had her looking like a Road King in less than 2 hours. The running of the wires through the bars wasn't bad, but it's not like they just slid right through. That took probably about and hour with the help of a friend. He pulled on a guide wire while I fed the wires in from the ends. The right side was obviously the harder side, running 2 harnesses vs 1 on the left side.
I think the biggest PITA was having to pull the exhaust to access the outer clutch cover. Ended up inadvertently breaking a bolt from the crossover mount in the back of the transmission, which required removing the rear wheel to fix it right. First time I did that, and it was much easier than I thought it would be.
After getting everything put back together, I got the clutch bled and bled the front brakes enough to make it rideable to the dealer for them to do an"ABS service" to finish it off. Total time was about a day and a half.
After putting 600 miles on it this weekend, I am very satisfied. 14 inches was the perfect height for me. At first I was a little worried about the width (39) but no longer. Love these more than the previous 2 sets of Yaffe's. Not to say those weren't good bars, but I am an F47 fan now. Absolutely dig the 1.5" diameter. And just to clarify, the risers are 1"diameter. The bars then step up to 1.25 through the lower bends, then step up again to 1.5, up through the top point, then taper down to 1" for the hand controls. I did have to scrape the powder coat off at the bar end on the right side. It was too thick, causing the throttle to stick. To only a few minutes with a sharp blade.
I will have to post pictures when I get to my home computer, since the file size is too large on my phone
