is this just for problem bikes???  I haven't had any problem with the amp in 4000 miles, but if you remind me where the build date is I can list mine as a "no problem yet" bike

Mike

You will find it on the sheet that came with your bike when it came in the crate. It was taped to the wrap on the batwing. The other way to get it is to go to the dealer with your VIN. They will give it to you.

Don't want to jinx you but crank it up a bit. Better it goes now than later.

Mano will have to edit his original post if you guys just let him know.

You might want to forward the information (to help those guys going forward) even if you've already had yours replaced.  Also, if you don't know your build date then a VIN should be good enough for the MoCo to track it. :2vrolijk_21:

I will update the main list as i get the dates. :2vrolijk_21:

Mine was built 04-11-11.  I'm waiting on my second replacement amp.  The original amp and the NEW replacement amp with the new part number both went out at approx. 300 miles!!!

I encourage everyone with the amp problem to complain to the General Manager at your dealership and demand that he forward the info to the District Manager for resolution.  MOCO already knows this is a problem.  They are trying to  keep it quiet and pretend that there is no problem to save face.

Amen. :2vrolijk_21:

Mine was built 9/16/2010 but I have not had any amp problems......

I think you and Lincoln should turn up the volume.  :bananarock:

That's when it will start to go.

I have....I turned it up high enough to figure out that I am upgrading the system over the winter!  It distorts to quickly at high volume.....

And you listed my build date incorrectly.....the date is Sept 16, 2010

When I was at the stealer and we were discussing the on going problem with the amp. problem I asked if there was anyone else who had this problem......they said no. Then I went on to tell them that there is about 50 bikes that i know of. I told them that I did not want to insult them but i was going to download this thread and bring it in with my bike so maybe we all can learn from the information that is here. The one thing they suggested is that if we had the build date of these 50 bikes maybe we can determine if there was a bad run of amps depending if the dates are close together. I have gone threw this thread and there are 46 of us so far. Below are all 46 names from the original thread 100 WATT AMPLIFIER ON SCREAMING EAGLE STREET GLIDE that was started by Signbird1.

If you know your BUILD DATE please add it or email me the date and I will add it to the master list.

To the other moderators on this board.......

Under normal circumstances I would have moved this thread to "Electronic toys....." board.  However, since the problem is unique to the SESG, I'm leaving it here to be more visable to those that have the problem.

The OTHER "100 watt amplifier problem thread" is unique to the SESG, so why was it moved to the Electronics board?  No other HD uses that crappy amp!!  :nixweiss:

IMHO that original thread should be moved back here to this board!  :2vrolijk_21:

I agree. The thread was started and was here since April 9th. There is now no activity on that thread since it was moved.
