How about get one 'raw' and get it painted or powder coated black?

Now that's a thought. Any idea on price on a raw one? Black would be interesting.

Looks like that confirms that the holdup is at the custom painters end. I went with the solid white gold pearl so it could come directly from H-D.  
It looks good, now I just need to figure out what to put on the back for an emblem.  

I put a Tank emblem like the ones that come on the Skunk on the back of my Chopped Tour Pack, get lots of complements on it.  It is curved on the back side so had to add a little more double sided tape.  Held it in place real tight with wood working clamps.

Thought about the fairing one, but thought it might be to small. 

Funny never had or liked skulls.  Almost did not buy the bike because of the skulls.  Now I have added skulls to this bike, the primary and the timer.  Even did the same primary on my 13 CVO King  except there is no chrome on the one for the king

So am I missing something? I went to put together the chopped HD tour pack and the supplied bolts are too short, by about a 1/2 inch.  Is their a trick to it or is this another quality control issue with HD?

The kit came with two different length 1/4" bolted that were all too short for the four point rack and there were three 5/16 bolts that were the right length so I found a fourth and some good lock nuts and used them. I had to drill out the four existing holes in the metal plate to fit the larger bolts and of course drill through the bottom of the tour pak but once that was done everything bolted together nicely.  Just came back from a 800 mile trip and the pak was still there so all must be good.

To answer your questions, yes you are and there isn't a way to make it work with what came with it.
