2012 BOOM INTERNAL ANTENNA INSTALL AND REVIEW
« on: August 23, 2011, 07:37:27 PM »

Well boys I decided to take the leap and while I had the front fairing off, I installed the new BOOM Internal Antenna on my 2012 CVO Sreet Glide.  WOW!!

Boy does it work well. I get the full impact of all 400 watts!!

FWIW: If you are going to do this you may be interested in how I did mine and why.

I tie, tied the BOOM antenna to the large main harness secured to the inner faring that connects all of the gauges and other components.

The instructions call for you to use the supplied adhesive strips and stick it to the outter fairing.

My thinking is that if you do these type of projects by yourself, carefully handling the 3 wires from the antenna, the headlight harness for the high and low beams and the windshield and frame are a bit much for only two hands.

Regards

Jerry

Have you tried it on a ride away from the city (weak signal)  Many members have tried these and had marginal results at best.

Dayne66:

I think yes it carries power to it and a power light to indicate that it is working.

It plugs into the positive and negative terminals on the cigarette lighter.

i had one installed but removed it very quickly..not very good in areas where radio signal is not strong.  as a matter of fact it wasn't any good anywhere.
