Sundowner different view. Same overall seat position as the stock seat but with a bit more back support.

Ok...I had to dump that hammock seat. Sat me up too high, pushed me too far forward, and crushed me low in the pants (if you know what I mean). I swapped it for a sundowner. I actually rode around with the demo for a day and it's more comfortable.  I really like the stock seat, but I like to use a rider backrest on long trips. The sundowner puts me in a similar riding position as the stock seat. Only note...i decided on the 2008 + sundowner instead of the 2014. There is a big difference so try them both.

So, after studying this thread, I gleaned that the Sundowner seat is the closer Harley seat to the stock seat CVO seat that facilitates a rider backrest.  Is it a safe assumption there is no way to do a rider backrest on the stock CVO seat?

Also, what do you mean the 2008 sundowner verses the 2014 sundowner?  A dealership will let you order a 2008 sundowner?

I too like the stock seat, want a rider backrest, and the stock seat matches my passenger backrest pad tuck and roll.

Thanks,

dnlpnd

Love the powder coating, are the highway pegs HD slipstream?

Dnlpnd,
As far as I know, there is no way to attach a rider rest with the stock seat. As for the Sundowner seat, here's the deal:
52000128 . fits 2014 seat is 14.5"; passenger 13"

52093-08A fits 2008 - 2013 seat 16"; passenger 14"
NOTE: The catalog says "fits 2014 touring not equipped with tour-pak" THIS IS NOT TRUE FOR THE CVORK!
NOTE: The catalog also says "on 2012-later CVO models requires removal of fender trim strips" THIS IS ALSO NOT TRUE!

There is a big difference between the two stock numbered seats. The 2014 sits up higher like the hammock. The 2008-2013 sits closer to the stock seat. I have the tour pak and have not removed the trim strips and it works just fine. Have the dealer pull both stock numbers out for you to try. You'll be able to check out the difference! Let me know what you think! Good luck!

Thanks, BritGuy! Yes, front pegs are actually the stock passenger foot pegs. I added passenger floor boards for my girl to have more comfort.
