Paint codes?
« on: August 20, 2014, 09:27:14 PM »

I searched through a lot of threads and could not find an answer for this. I have a 2011 FLTRUSE in Rio Red/Ember Black. I am doing new lids for a custom stereo and need the Rio Red paint code. Any one know for sure what that code is? Moco is even more secretive with cvo's. Local PPG rep does not even have that info..... But maybe someone here knows? PM me if you know it please

Thanks

As you're finding out obtaining the paint codes are hard to come by, however a good paint shop should be able to put any of your painted parts under there scanner (not sure if that's the proper name of the machine) and read the paint and match it. Another option is to contact member Xtreme Dimension and have him do the work (check the Vendor Discount board for some of his work and the Vendor and Customer Service Reports board for samples and comments of his work).

I have the same 11 RGU in Rio Red/Ember Black as you do.  I made a stupid mistake one day and put a deep scratch on the front of my fairing.  After researching paint codes and coming up blank, I contacted the painter my local HD shop uses for repairs and custom work.  He matched my Rio Red perfectly!  I'm a very particular guy and I was extremely pleased with the outcome.  Good Luck with yours!

These colors are general hand matched(atleast at our shop)
Here is a shot of stretched bags we did on one-
If you are not comfortable in sending parts out, if you already have them...
I agree that your dealer may have A painter to match colors if they are doing their work etc
