Riding glasses
« on: February 26, 2015, 06:19:56 PM »

I cannot find a good fitting pair of riding glasses, I was blessed with a  wide head, the glasses I have now are the 7eyes size large but they are still snugg and after a few hours of riding they are digging into the side of my head and it hurts, does anyone have this issue? And if so what glasses are you using to resolve this nagging pain.

And I happen to be in the market for some glasses.  Glad I ran into this!  Thanks!

From another fat head......Ray Ban Wayfarer.  Been wearing them for forty years and they're still in style.

You have to buy them someplace that knows how to fit them to your head.  They have the little tub with the heated glass beads that warm the arms of the glasses so that they can be bent/molded to fit your head correctly.

I actually have prescription lenses in them but they are photochromatic and get dark grey when exposed to sunlight. Works really well and I don't need to carry an additional pair for the nighttime.

I find the light adjusting lenses don't get dark enough for riding into direct sunlight. I once even bought a cheap pair while on the road that were darker than my Wiley X's and Panoptics. Still on the hunt for a pair that does both.

Wiley X!

A few years ago I took a large bolt off the center of the lens at 70 MPH. Riding my old Deuce. Nearly knocked me off the bike but didn't even scratch the lens!

Great fitting sunglasses. They come is a bunch of styles and sizes.

Oakley Slit jackets.  Fit well, can easily change lens for conditions.  I have dark polarized, grey, and transition lens for the glasses.  They also have wind sock you can take on and off to seal around your eyes.

I wear the Oakley gascan. The have straight earpieces so they slide in my full face helmet easily. I have had them for a few years and fined them very comfortable on a long ride. I have an 8 3/8 hat size. It's a big melon holding a couple marbles.

How many of the glasses mentioned below have a gasket? I really like having a gasket, otherwise my eyes water like mad. I need to invest in a good pair.
