So sorry to read of this riders injuries.  Brings back to mind my similar accident (?) of last May.  No way to avoid someone who darts right into you at the last moment and then it's just a matter of how seriously you get hurt.  My prayers are with him as he is in for a long bit of suffering.  It's part of the life we live riding in traffic, but so many of these encounters could be avoided....it's just a bad deal all around.  spyder

Surgery today is underway to repair tib/fib fracture and the toes on the other foot. Intubation will be removed tommorrow if all goes as planned. Information I have received from another rider that was at the scene says the other driver involved received citations for inattentive operation of a motor vehicle and failure to yield.

Roger is doing well today the intubation tube has been removed he is breathing on his own and talking some movement is still painful as they have reduced his pain management meds. Not out of the danger completely but is doing remarkably well on this 18th day.

Finally after 18 days Roger is awake enough and able to talk since they extubated him. One of the questions he was asked was "are you going to ride again?" he answer was "Yep"

Roger is sitting up, eating, drinking, talking and is doing much, much better. The road to his full recovery is long and painful things are looking really good for him and his family right now. Thank you all for your thoughts and concerns during this time. Ride Hard/Ride Safe
