Gerbing / HD heated gear
« on: October 26, 2013, 07:47:56 PM »

Just got back after 1 hour ride in 39 degree weather to test the gear. I got the pants, jacket, and gloves.

I had the heat turned up 50% ish, more was to hot and I never turned on the heated grips and seat heater.

I am going to order the heated soles for the booths. I was fine this short ride but I hope to do a few longer rides before the snow and in early spring.

Great gear and very comfortable after you get all this crap on you, and I wore my Aerostich over it plus a full face helmet.

I will update with more info after getting a few longer rides in sub 32 weather.

I'm not sure what heated gear you have.  Terrie and I left Lake Tahoe with Andy & Sherry, Don & Carol one morning....16F.  Terrie and I were wearing the Gerbing eXtreme Element pants and jacket, Gerbing gloves and Gerbing heated boot insoles....turned up about 80% and we were totally comfortable.  Photos posted on this forum someplace....even the thermometer (scroll down to the 3rd photo in this link)   http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=72870.msg1004232#msg1004232

We were feeling a bit sorry for some of the others in our group that didn't have the complete outfit.  But it warmed up a few degrees as the sun came up.  But with Gerbing we could ride all day long in those kind of temps comfortably.

More evidence of the riding with the Gerbing gear...  (that's me in the lead and Terrie right behind me on her Street Glide)...  http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=74330.msg1026643#msg1026643

Last winter my wife and I rode to Pensacola FL to see our Daughter for Christmas.  On the ride home the temp dropped to the 20's by Birmingham and stayed there all the way home to Knoxville area.  It even started snowing.  Our Gerbing gear is 6 years old.  Money very well spent.  We ride year round.

I've had a Gerbing vest for years and it is worth every penny.  I ride all year absent ice or snow.

I've been saying this for years: the best money I ever spent on motorcycling was on my Gerbing's gear.

WE ride till snow or salt. Can't beat the investment. When you have 50,000 or more invested in 2 bikes. Another 1000 is cheap to enjoy the ride .       Again the best money spent on riding. Gerbing is also a great product.  Billy

Have been thinking bout it, need to ask a dumb(not for me) question. Is a dual controller all I need, ie can the jacket & gloves be daisied, same with pant & booties?

Yes, a dual controller is all you need.

Jacket goes on one control then gloves, pants, and heated sooles on the other.

I started with the wires controller but switched to a wireless unit which is great

Most BMW and Honda motorcycle dealerships carry a limited supply but you can order from Gerbing's web site.

Here's a review that I did on the Gerbing eXtreme Element gear.  Coupled with the Gerbing boot insoles and gloves, can't be beat.....   http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=68677.0

Gerbings web site will also provide you with dealers in or near your area.  Good stuff!

Who sells the wireless controller? I couldn't find it on Gerbings website.

Get the Powerlet wireless dual controller through Revzilla, it's cheaper than buying direct from Powerlet.
