Zumo mount
« on: May 08, 2008, 03:31:29 PM »

It's about time to replace my trusty 2610 and have been reading all the Zumo threads.  I ran across this mount on another forum.  Seems like it would be way out of your line of sight and wire routing may be a problem.  Anyone tried one??

Neat item but think it looks to odd ball for my taste.

On another note, anyone seen a fairing mount for the Zumo?  Might be to heavy for a fairing mouht but think the Zumo is the direction I'm also going to take, I really hate stuff on the bars.  One of my dissapointments with the Screaming Nemo is the performance of the Nav system.  They could have done a much better job.

I looked at this at Bikeweek. Not sure if I want to look down t see the display. Did not see one mounted to check out the routing of the wires. I think the bar mount with the chrome parts is the way to go. I just have the mount that came with the unit and it does look crude. The Zumo provides a lot of comfort when caught in the rain at night. Before getting the Zumo, I had a Garmin C330 and put it in the center pouch of my windshield bag. I could see the unit without looking away from the road.
Search this topic and find the part numbers and source for the chrome mounts. :)

Just a FYI, I found out the hard way, that mount doesn't work on the 08's

Besides a bigger fuel tank the fuel tank door is about 1/4" bigger diameter also.

Ram Mounts sells chrome handlebar mounts and arms.
