Mark;
If your asking about the 37970-03 I have had problems with this one. The pull on this takes gorilla strenth as well. I would recommend a Rivera Pro-Clutch. Fairly easy pull and locks up very well.

im with hd dude. the pro clutch works great. BUT-----with a 95 inch motor, a $12 SE clutch spring and stock plates will hold fine.

you guys are right on the 120 hp, realistically, there are very few around. hence my answer. and its also doubtful the deputydawg is gonna turn the rpm required to make that 120 with a b motor-----well not too many times anyway!

I tried one in my 03 Anniversary Ultra for about 2 days.   Then I went with the Rivera Pro Clutch, since then I have also put one in my 124" motor.    What HD-Dude is saying is spot on.   You should consider what Dennis is saying and rather than spending the 450 to 500 bucks on the Rivera try the SE Spring and stock plates you can always dip back in for the big bucks.

Well... Dawg gone it, looks like I stepped in it again! I bought the clutch today before I got a chance to read all the comments. My current build is progressing on schedule and I will be using the SE spring for the time being, so we will see how it holds up. My shop is totally cool; they let me help, and probably won't charge me more than double!

Basically, I am just looking for a clutch that will hold up to my occasional (3-4x daily) adolescent behavior(burnouts). With the new build, maybe I won't have to drop the clutch at 2500rpm's heheheh!!! Thanks again guys. By the way, anyone dealt with the Chrome SE mags? I keep tweeking my stock spoke rims! Go figure :huepfenlol2:
Happy Holidays. Mark :coolblue:

Unbalanced, what problems did you have or why did you dislike it enough to get rid of it after 2 days? Thanks, Mark :coolblue:

Oh, and thanks again Mr.Rednectum for being there once again!

Deputy,

My hand was worn out before lunch from pulling the clutch in and I live in a pretty flat area here in Florida.  Wouldnt even begin to imagine how much I would have dreaded being in an area with constant up and down shifting.   Hence the change in 2 days.  Basically rode the bike over the weekend and by Monday morning had a new clutch on order.   To be fair here I can't say it wasnt put in wrong or that I gave them any chance to make any more modifications to it, but looking back at it the pro clutch went in first time and worked like a charm and to this day they remain easy to setup and adjust.

Sounds like a nightmare for me in the SAn Francisco Bay area with all the hills and shifting in traffic. Thanks, Mark :coolblue:

RC Cycles. These guys are so cool, its like being over at your buddies garage, but your buddy is a Pro! Can't say enough about the shop. Very professional,  yet homey at the same time. Take care, Mark :coolblue:

I don't know why Harley would market a clutch that so many people seem to find disagreeable. Even though it is billed as a "race" clutch, most of the upgrade parts that are SE are given that same label, but everyone knows that these parts are going to be used on the street by riders looking to improve their bike.

Kind of ticks me off! But as my ol' drinkin' buddy used to say: 'tis better to be pissed off, than pissed on!

Happy Holidays everbody, Mark :coolblue:
