Anyone disappointed in CVO SG paint lately?
« on: September 06, 2015, 06:29:46 PM »

I know I'm just running at the mouth, but I honestly have not seen any CVO paint from the MoCo that "grabs" me since 2011-13. Granted, Orange is my favorite color, I just love my 2011 SESG in Inferno orange and I like the 2013 RG in Orange. Except for the 2015 hard candy silver SG, I'm left very unimpressed.  Was waiting for 2016 only to be disappointed.
I guess I should thank the MoCo for saving me $50 large by the time the whole exercise is done...

My '12 Ruby is the only one lately that I've really liked....I think that may be why I bought it and have not been tempted to trade it.!

Anyone disappointed in CVO SG paint lately?

I'm especially partial to *bright* colors and love the Scarlet on my 2010, the yellows on the '09 Roadies and '12 (I think) Ultras plus the greens and oranges from '11 and '12. After that, there seems to have been a darkening of the choices. I was waiting for the '16s to knock my socks off. Instead I got meh.
The only new color that looks cool to me is the red that is only on the FLHX

I'm a fan also of the famous Mopar colors from the seventies.
I think Sub-Lime, Lemon Twist, Plum Crazy and Tor Red are due for a CVO treatment.

The 2012 Ruby in my opinion was and still remains the BEST color  :pepper:  :apple:  :pepper:

Is love the looks of my Hard Candy Mercury.....other then the 2013 CVO Breakout I had, there is not many other color combos that were instant head turners.....although, I also liked:
The 2013 anniversary CVOs
The 2012 Skunk Road Glide
The blue and silver 2009 CVO Springer
The black and orange 2014 CVO Road King
....I guess I like a lot!

I'd love the 2016 white and black CVO Street Glide IF it didn't have purple pinstripes around the flames.

The MoCo pictures just don't do justice to the 2016 colors.  Just got my 2016 Black Licorice/Cobalt Flames.  In person, it's just stunning; especially outside.   Subtle enough, but striking in the deep, dark purple.  I agree, that nothing has competed with the 2012 Ruby/Typhoon, and foolishly I traded mine for a 2015 RG Special last year.  Thank goodness I'm back!  :)   The 2016's are worth seeing in person.   I hear the Atomic Red was  THE bike at the dealer show, but my ol' Ruby was the best!

Again, the pictures don't do it justice.  The Black Licorice is full of purple flake, but generally looks like a deep, rich black.
The colors are great.   The quality of the paint and finish really disappoints for the hefty price tag, Harley really should step up their quality control on a "Custom" vehicle.

Pretty ride. I think I'm partial to orange and just not seeing enough of it or "cool" enough graphic designs on the cvo's. Just my 2 cents.

EVERYONE knows the 2011 Autumn Haze/Antique Gunstock is the best paint scheme ever to roll out of the plant!!

I bought my 2012 Hot Citrus & Antique Gunstock & I really like it but the 2011 Inferno Orange is a beautiful machine too. There are several beautiful colors & schemes but I think the Hard Candy of 2015 was the last of the "Wow, check that out!!" colors that we've seen. As far as the 2016 colors, I'm just not impressed & to use the same design with different colors is just lazy & lame I think!!

I don't need or want a SG but the '16 Red one is in my opinion maybe the best looking one they ever made.
