Title: 2015 CVO Road Glide
Post by: gpopvet on December 09, 2013, 04:43:37 PM
Has there been any new information posted other than poles on whether or not a new designed CVO Road Glide will be produced? In my opinion I have ridden all other bikes and currently ride a 2011 CVORG Ultra and is great.

Unfortunately the Motor Company is being very tight lipped about this new bike.
Hopefully we will get some spy photos soon.
You have a great bike, we can only hope they don't screw it up for 15.

I'm sure it'll be fine..
Especially the new fairing -- even with the radiators and all new "shark gill" cooling vents built into it  ;)

Actually the "shark gills" might look kinda cool..... wonder if I can beat them to the patent office....

I keep thinking that they will give it a different name.

I sure hope there is a new CVO 2014.5 or 2015 Road Glide or Road Glide ultra.

I sure hope the improvements are as good as there were on the Ultra's and street glides.

My guess is it is going to be a Street Glide with a different fairing. So that means no wet head engine.

Most likely they're monitoring the sales of the showerheads before moving forward with the RG's.

Unless they come out with the next gen SERGU. If they do, I hope they have a blue one

Watch out Mike, buy a blue one and you become Chip's
new best friend.

I sure hope they hit a home run on this one also. Almost
Time for me a new bike.

If the Victory Vision and the new Indian with a fairing got together and had a baby, and that baby grew up and had some terrible skin eating disease, then it had a front end collision with a semi and then it got warts; that's what the new bike will look like.

Up until I traded my 02 batwing in on my current bike, all my vehicles were blue. When I flew to Utah last year to pick up Avy#3, it is also blue. A guy down in C'bus that works at a dealer has a 12 SERG like Chip's that he converted into an Ultra. He wouldn't trade me for mine though.  :-\

Wonder if he'll trade my CVO RG for that. Heck, I'll even throw in some cash to sweeten the deal! :2vrolijk_21:

I might be wrong, but Harley hasn't ever made a CVO in any model longer that two years in a row, so how likely is it that they would make a 2014.5 after making them in 2012 and 2013 ?

My bet is that there will be a 2015 CVO RG.  Probably Custom rather than Ultra.

I base this prediction on a spy shot of the 2015 RG custom I just obtained:

The Ultra has been made so many years in a row the model will start drawing social security soon.

I've not seen that bike in several years.  Used to see it all over the midwest at rallies or just out putzing around.  Belonged to an elderly retired couple who thoroughly enjoyed nothing more than heading out together on that bike and going to rallies.  They'd stop, polish, bling, rinse and repeat.  Said for many years when I grew up I wanted to be them.  Many (ok, most) thought the bike was gawdy.  It was, however, their pride.  A years long project that they kept immaculate no matter how much it was ridden; and it was ridden a surprising amount.

I'm assuming they got beyond their ability to ride the old heavy thing anymore, or perhaps one or both have even passed away now.  But good on them for doing what they loved to a bike they adored despite anyone's opinions and rode the bitch often always with smiles on their faces.

I agree.  Can't see the MoCo putting together CVO paint schemes, bling, etc., for only a 6 month run.  Plus, if the CVO RG is offered for 2014.5, they'd also have to offer a non-CVO version.

I thought the blue SEUC made a few years back was a mid model year. 2011.5

JONNIEROCK,

Yes Harley has made the CVO FLHTCUSE  Ultra Classic Electra Glide for more than 2 years!

The CVO Ultra Classic Electra Glide was made for 8 years, 2006 thru 2013.

... and basically continues in 2014 with a slight name change, but really is the same bike.  So 9 years and counting.

Way too many years for my liking to feel you've got something unique.

I think my bike is special.  I will always be a bagger pilot, I don't know what else is better than the classic full dressers.
I hope folks can appreciate what they have.  Personally, I don't care what new bikes come out -I'm totally satisfied with mine.   :)

The CVO Street Glide was made for three years in a row... 2010 FLHXSE, 2011 FLHXSE2, and 2012 FLHXSE3.

I'm guessing a new '15 CVO Road Glide would have a re-designed better integrated fairing where the lowers seamlessly blend in- with further improved aerodynamics.
