Indian Blue-Diamond Roadmaster
« on: February 08, 2016, 10:02:26 PM »

My country-ass don't know how to get the article over to the Site.  Maybe someone here can.  Not that I'd ever buy one, but may be of interest to some members.  Later--HUBBARD

You mean this one? Looks way better with the black leather instead of the fugly tan.

Yep.....that's the one.  I agree with you about the fugly tan.  That bike just looks cheap to me.  :nixweiss: Later--HUBBARD

Not a fan of tan either. The black on blue looks very nice.

The Indians get some great reviews, but IMHO the bikes look cheap upon close inspection and the fit and finish of painted parts could stand some improvement.  I personally dislike the design of the inner fairing - or lack thereof - and the lowers really look awkwardly shaped to my eyes  -- but then again my eyes are gettin' old.....

Look a lot like a Yamaha Royal Star at 3 times the price.

Oh c'mon, don't insult the Royal Star Venture like that ... they look way better than the Indian. I almost bought a '13 Venture before big blue, but Yamaha didn't want to trade my Duc at the time. They sound NICE with Monster Ovals, have a listen ...

another ...

They aren't as pretty as a HD, but much less problematic ... basically same motor as the older V-max (no v-boost with milder cams), liquid-cooled, shaft drive PLUS ... they have a cassette player with the radio, how many Harleys or Indians have that? lol. A lot of guys really pile on the miles with those Ventures and love them. I still can't figure out why they stopped making their best touring bike ... maybe they're still trying to figure out how to go fuel injection with it or make a better tape deck??

I agree about the lowers and the cheap dash on the Indians. Honestly, I could never look at one of those in my garage, but a Venture I could.

I think they are a nice bike. Several friends own Indians and have no problems with them..

Wasn't making fun of the Venture, I would definitely by a used one of them before springing for a new Indian  I have always liked them and I agree they are pretty darn trouble free.

If I see you test riding one at Daytona, I will definitely learn how to post pictures on this site...

I made the mistake of test riding an Indian.  Apples to apples (stock HD 103 vs. stock Indian 111) there was no comparison.  Better suspension, power plant, etc..   Smooth delivery of power...  Sure, compared to a CVO and it gets closer... But now we're talking 10-15k more in price point.   Looks are subjective, I get that... I happen to think that Victory is butt ugly...  But the Indian is gorgeous in my mind.  Again, all subjective.

Many are afraid to admit it, but the Indian was the best thing that ever happened to HD... They've gotten away with selling us cr@p for way too long.  I'm hoping my beloved motor company gets off their a$$.   And please don't ride the Indian... Because you'll either own one, or lie to yourself aboutw why you're continuing to spend money on such an inferior piece of technology.
