I have an opportunity to buy this old car from a customer of mine. He brought some pictures , it looks complete, it has the top and side curtains, wooden spoke wheels, it's a parade type car needing a new place to call home,come with a trailer full of extra parts.
I'll try to take a picture of the picture,  it is at his lake cabin and it will be a few months before we go to see it.
Anyone here know much about this old car? 2014 Chevrolet Baby Grand

That was Durant's bid to fight Ford's Model T.  They were part of the early Chevy "H" series cars.  In a way they were more "modern" than the T.  The Chevy had an electric starter!

I've actually seen one of these in person.  About 20 years ago spent three weekends building a (somewhat close to but still functional) replica wheel to replace most of a rotten/broken original.  The wheel was wood.

Looking at some of the pictures and paperwork he dropped off, might be a 1917,

if that's a 1917 make sure if its a series "D" v8 worth a lot of money, same year GM took Chevrolet.

This is a picture of 4 that the owner brought me. This was is dads, his brothers and some friends helped make it drivable before he passed away, He had put in many years of restoring it right down to assembly of the wheels,
He gave me information on the way the brake / clutch system works and the carb iced up the last few time it was driven, also has a trailer full of extra parts. The top is complete and has the side curtains. There is some papers on registering for a antique car show, but I didn't get to look for the engine information, when I get back to work tomorrow I'll see what motor it has, he did tell me the rockers are exposed and that they need to be oiled with a oil can.
Still not sure if this is something I want to take on.

I own a 1926 ford Model T, the model T is not a easy car to drive the spark and throttle are on the steering column and you have a Forward , Revers , and brake pedal on the floor. The old Chevrolet are hard to find I was told because they had a lot more wooden body parts in them and when they got parked during the depression most of them rotted out, the fords had a lot more metal body parts in them so that's why you see way more fords then Chevrolet around.

what kinda money you talking here, being scarce and all the chevy heads out there I bet that might be smart money. In the late 60s my sisters" father in law to be" had one looked like that I remember the hand crank. he had to have a chevy I remember it was rare. Of course the 1917 V8 is over the top rare. Once heard the V8 was a fork and blade rod assembly like the Harley the cylinder banks were not staggerd, never saw one in person though. OHV pushrod.

I know nothing about these old cars it is cool looking, I would keep it as chose to stock as possible, as I went through making a hot rod once, it's a long process and in the end I did ok selling it. But this project would be fun.
