Don't care what my better half likes cause she doesn't ride as much as me. I'm thinking a back rest just might go on my wish list to help harness all that extra hp I got from my pipe and tuner so I don't slide into my tour pak when I twist it. ;D

I put the George Anderson Tourpak Relocator on my bike and it gave my wife plenty of room. I never take the back rest off now!

Now that is one 'problem' I would welcome!
Back to your question, BoB. My wife is a "healthy girl" at about 210. My tourpak is removable and after a few trips with a sissy pad, she says the tourpak is better. She says it makes her more secure and she can even nod off if she can get me to 'shut up on that intercom'. I used to acuse her of flapping to much......go figure.

After a couple of quick stops I am glad that I have the rider backrest.  Keeps the wife off my back... :D

Rider backrest for me took up space. I moved the tour pack some by simply re-drilling the holes. The rider backrest did make it tougher for my girl to get on and off of the bike. The backrest also changed her seating position due to how wide it is which was uncomfortable for her. I simply don't use it with her on the bike.

If you want a happy ride, always make sure she rides her own!  We are both much happier that way.

This always goes over well, tell her if she'd lose a little weight there'd be room for your backrest.

Don't listen, buy a George Anderson tour pack relocator much cheaper than a divorce.

With the back problems I have, it's not an option....it's a "must".  Been riding with a back rest for fifteen years.

buy the backrest and a bike for your wife!

So took you advise.. Already had the backrest..  Went this weekend and bought the wife a '15 Heritage...  She has a new found respect for highway driving on two wheels.  She will probably still ride with me on Justice more often than not but gives her the option, and an around town bike for me if needed... ;D

I bought my wife her own back in 2009 and she has not been on the back of mine for more than 100 miles since. She hates being a BSR . I think one becomes a rider or chooses not. I see very few ladies that ride %50 BSR and operator.

If and when I do have a BSR, sometimes the daughter, I can take it off if it is ok FOR US BOTH. Since the things come on and off easily it is not big deal to have one when you want and remove as desired.

Great to hear you bought the wife a bike..........now all you will have to deal with is whether or not she wants you to ride ahead or behind her!

Man, did you nail that one..  Took a ride today because we both had a Dr. Appt.  I decided to ride behind so I could keep an eye out on traffic..  Since she doesn't have a tour pack I ended up keeping my eye on the back of her...   :bananarock:
