Cleaning Agitator contrast cut wheels?
« on: September 07, 2014, 09:09:19 PM »

What have you all found that works best for cleaning the Agitator contrast cut wheels?

I've got some S100 wheel cleaner already, but never used it on these wheels, and wondering if it will work well and is same for the surface.

Appreciate any feedback!

Just to clean the wheels when washing the bike I use a spray-on wheel and tire cleaner, let it sit, and wash with a microfiber cloth.  I'm sure your S100 cleaner will work fine.  If trying to get something off the wheel, like tar, etc, try a car polish or Harley Glaze - you can use either on the black and chrome.  Harley Glaze and car polish both have some protection qualities as well.

You can use a chrome cleaner on the chrome part, but I wouldn't use it on the black painted part.

Chrome areas you clean like when cleaning regular chrome... black areas clean quickly with some car wash soap and water... nothing fancy required.

Loved those wheels... wish I could swap the ones on my current ride for them again... they just go better with bikes that have more black in them...   :2vrolijk_21:

Thanks guys!

Wachuko, agree completely about these wheels. I saw them on a bike a few years ago on a black Road King and since then always wanted a set on my bike. Finally got a set and want to keep them looking purty! Lol

Those wheels complement that RK well. Good choice.

actually just went through this the other day.....  i use some type of waterless cleaner (same as if i'm doing the bike) and then chrome polish on the chrome parts, and wax on the black.  if you don't put some type of protective coating over them, they just get dirty again that much faster......
