My iPod is acting up. ......
« on: October 12, 2014, 05:41:47 PM »

I have new itouch.   It's been working fine until lately on my sesg3.  I am using a 30 pin adaptor.  After I plug it in,, I ride for just a few minutes and then it cuts off. I can see the song title on the radio, but no sound at all.   To get it to work again,, I have to stop, unplug it, and plug it back in,,  I had the blue tooth upgrade installed in my radio, so it works that way,, just a pain to move the song while riding.    Any Ideas.?     Thanks in advance.   Stuart.

Try changing the input on the radio from iPod to xm/am/weather.... Mine did that a few times and by changing the input, the sound came back on . Dealer got mine fixed under esp.

I scroll through the am fm cd all that.  Makes no difference.  I used to do that and advance a song and that would let it come on a fair I was parked for a while.    Does it only when I am moving.  Maybe a bad cord?

I MIGHT have solved my problem.  I tried an old iPod tonight and it went out on me only once  but came back on when I scrolled thru am, fm.......  I pulled the short plug apart at the coupler and reconnected it. I did replace this plug once,,  maybe I wasn't getting a good solid connection  while it was failing. My new iPod touch is working perfectly after that,,    so,,,,,     we shall see,,, :nervous:

Mine has been in and out of the dealer for 3 weeks now. Same issues. Plus speakers cutting in and out. 2013 cvo roadglide. They have replace wire harness for iPod and stereo head unit and still has problem. They told me it was my iPhone 5s and said to buy an iPod nano. So I did. Still acting up. Goes back monday. Not to happy with hd radio.

Mine has done it about 3 times in the 18 months I have owned the bike.  I have to pull over and unplug and replug Ipod to fix it.

My 13 cvo ultra does the same thing once in a while , what I believe is my problem is the plug / connector from the iPod to the plug behind the saddle bag. I am not 100% about this though , so when it is working I try not to unplug it from the iPod unless I need to. This is when my problem usually occurs , right after the iPod was removed.

They put in a new iPod module today. Already done new deck and patch cable. Then they called me to try and say the mtx speakers are not factory. Lol. Told the dealer they are full of crap and do they're homework. Sad we the riders know more than the service team at the local dealers
