CVO Road Glide Seat Options
« on: April 14, 2014, 11:24:49 AM »

I have a 2013 Anniversary Road Glide. I want to swap out the seat. What are my options while retaining the passenger fender strip guards.? I don't want to remove them. Thanks

I used a Corbin dual tour and still have the strips installed. I still use the factory seat for single short rides. It only takes a minute to switch them.

Be careful when choosing a one piece. I use the reach and the bolt head touches the fender and scratched the paint. I had to put a lower profile bolt in and then put felt pads on. The outside edges of the reach also wore some of the clear coat so I put felt on that too.

There's another cvo in town with the same issue but he has the sundowner.

I have a hammock and did not have to remove the chrome fender strips. No issues.

Use the Harley Ultra seat here for two up without any problems. I switch between them often and really like the quick change with the four point tour pack and seat, two bikes in one.

I usually run a Corbin Dual Tour, and it fits fine with the strips. I also have a Mustang Super Touring Wide Vintage for when I have a BSR, and I did have to remove the strips to make it fit.

The Corbin is the most comfortable seat I have ever had... I have ridden all day on it, and I rarely ever even have to readjust my seating position. The Mustang has more padding and is way better for the BSR, but is not as supportive for me on long hauls. I get somewhat numb after several hours on it, and I have to readjust more often on it.

I much prefer the Corbin!

Ive only heard that the Corbin takes some breaking in.   Can be kinda hard.   I use the Mustang Vintage 2 piece too.  I really like it.  Long and short trips.   Stuart

My LaPera works without removing the strips. Had to take them off for my Heated Hammock seat though.

Danny Grey Air hawk has been the best seat I have eve had by far. Have run Corbins for years but just couldn't get past around 300 miles in a day on either one I had. When I saw that Danny Grey had the seat with the Air Hawk built in I called them. They put me with the artist to design a one-off that would match my maple. The customer service was absolutely world class thru the entire process and the seat has been amazing for 20000 miles allowing me to run 12 hours a day often. They certainly aren't cheap (quite the opposite) but IMHO, this is the definition of
"you get wheat you pay for".
Also no problem with the "strips"

I really am considering the AirHawk. I like the solo setup with backrest. What are the dimensions of the seat versus stock cvo 2 piece seat?

They can tell you but they are very similar with the Danny Grey feeling a tad higher which might be because of the Air Hawk which can change according to how much air you put into it. Pump under leather on side, bleed valve next to it
