My ignition switch?
« on: December 08, 2013, 10:58:11 AM »

The ignition switch on my sg3 is acting  up. When I lock the bike, I press down with the key and it does lock,, it doesn't stay down, it lifts up and then it's possible to spin the whole thing,,did I brake something?   I noticed tho remove it, I can just reach under and release it with out using the key,,,   Warrantee ? Or can I fix something.      Thanks.  Stuart

The locking tab is not completely re-engaging to the groove in the collar. Removed it and give it a shot of dry lube, operate it a few times with the key then try reinstalling.

Stu, I just went through the same exact issue. I had it replaced under warranty.

Good to hear, hope you had a great Christmas and all's well in the Sunshine State.  Now the 'belly' of Winter begins and it's gonna be a long time before Daytona for sure.  har!  spyder

Hope to see you in daytona in March Spy.  I was just on the phone with John Sachs.   We were talking about going up then.   Really looking forward to seeing Unbalanced and some others and some good riding.  Stay in touch so I can find ya.   And Rabbi too hopefully.

If the lock  gets sloppy,,, there is a way to snug it all back down.  Like mine was.   Lift off the decal on top and tighten that screw down that holds the stem together.   You will. Need a torx with a hole in it.  It's a vandal proof screw.   Use some blue loctite too.
