B1154 Code-B1154 Clutch Switch Input Short to Ground 12
« on: September 18, 2008, 10:24:58 AM »

Could someone with an 07 Electrical Schematic please look at Clutch Switch circuit and tell me the feed into the switch and the termination point at the TSSM. At least I think it goes to TSSM. I know I should have a Service Manual. I have up to 06. The switch was added in 07.
The wife's FLHRSE3 keeps logging this fault.

Thanks in advance,

Brad,
Did you get help with this?  I have the extra Electrical Diagnostic manual.  Interesting note for that code, Riding with clutch pulled in for over 60 seconds over 10MPH can set that code.  I can fax you the one page diagram if you wish.

That is the answer! That's how we stop we pull in clutch and use brakes to slow. No downshifting. It came from an old HD Dealer story that made sense titled "Spending Dollars to Save Pennys". Basically use your brakes to slow not your engine.

Don't know where that guy got that idea from, but you should always be in contol of your engine and be in the right power band for any given speed. You also never know when you need the extra braking from your engine AND brakes combined. To do that, you always need to be shifting. I'd never suggest to just pull the clutch in and brake as the recommended way to stop your bike. My 2 cents, but don't agree at all with that old dealer of yours. We all know how much to consider their recommendations anyway! ;)

Only practiced while coming to a controlled stop, not while under power on the road.
