Cvo vs non cvo

Hi breakout owner

Im hesitate between orange 2014 cvo and 2016 breakout.

Price difference is around 5000$.

Does the cvo worth the price difference ?

Help me to choose and become a member of cvo owner. I need arguments to convince my wife who prefer 2016 black breakout.

If I were facing the same decision I would prefer the 14 CVO over the 16.

Assuming the 14 CVO is in great shape.

Let me start with a few items that put the 14 CVO ahead of the 16:
110 engine
Upgrade air intake
Not sure on the standard, but CVO came with cruise control
Custom Paint
Upgraded wheels
More chrome upgrades throughout the bike, if you don't like chrome it is not an advantage.
Handlebars are better on the CVO in my opinion
Upgrade foot pegs, gear shift, break pedal

No way you could add all these components on a stock Breakout for $5,000

I'm sure I missed some other differences, but someone will chime in I'm sure.

Is the 2014 CVO used or an unsold new? It appears the '14 CVO is priced at 24-25k? It sold new at about $27k.

I side with your wife. The CVO is 2 yrs old, and although it has the 110, the 103 is more than adequate. There are several paint options on the 16, including a hard candy option. You are probably riding this bike around town, and perhaps a long day ride?

In 2 years, you and the wife may want something else, and the 5k savings can be used towards that purchase. I think you may see 110s on a lot more bikes in '17--as they placed the 110 on a couple models this yr (non CVO).

I bought a 2nd hand CVO in mint condition last year and am glad I did.

In years to come you'll still have a top of the line bike rather than stock.

I have a 2013 CVO Breakout and I am very happy withit.  Buy the CVO in 2 years you will just have a used 2016 Breakout but the CVO will always be a CVO.

Performance-wise, you'll feel a difference.  Looks-wise, there's a difference.  And when you go somewhere and meet other riders, there's a boost to your ego that can't be denied.
If you haven't already, take a good hard look at each bike, side by side.  The CVO breakout is breathtaking.  Chrome front end, chrome everywhere.  It's just an elite hot rod. 
Like ChopperPilot said, plus, a CVO comes with some things you can add to a standard, but those things come at a huge cost.  But it also comes with some custom feature you'll not be able to get like matching floorboards and grips and paint for starters.
Does the '14 come with a warranty?  Can you get an extended warranty?  Can you talk him down in price a little?  Do you know how it's been cared for and how it's been driven?  Was it kept in a garage or outside?  Does it come with all the factory original accessories a CVO comes with?
All important questions.

Yes the cvo comes with a guaranty till 03/16 and I can buy an 2 years extension.

The guy doesn't want to decrease the price.

The cvo has been stored in a garage. Its come with all original parts and some additional features like front led blinkers, remote license plate.

Mot of us here will say CVO (it is the CVO Owners Group) and it is true that in a couple of years you will just have a used BO as opposed to a CVO BO. Plus the biggest thing of course is you will have us... ::)

In my humble opinion, there is absolutely no comparison between a stock breakout and a 2014 CVO Breakout. Assuming the 2014 is "like new" you should give it strong consideration. A 2016 breakout will decrease in value much faster than the CVO. Take a look at online prices of two-year-old CVO Breakouts compared to two-year-old stock Breakouts. Keep in mind that upgrades on the 2016 Breakout will not increase the value of the bike in later years. Because the CVO comes with many upgrades included, they will actually be counted in the value of your bike in later years. See if the seller will allow you to test ride the CVO. Compare the tremendous low end torque in this bike with its 255 cams to the 2016 Breakout. You will feel the difference.

Road Dawn your cvo is amazing. Where did you buy the ignition wires in red ?
The ignition wires are actually orange.  :pleased: They blend well with the blaze orange paint. They're Harley-Davidson Screamin' Eagle 10mm Phat Spark Plug Wires.
