I match the paint perfectly you have to base coat first then spray the gold tint to get the right amount of pearl on it then take the part outside in the sun match up the new part with old tins  it took three coats to get the right amount

Since they don't get painted there, working there wouldn't help.

Hey Pete - have you ever seen what one of these paint codes look like?
For the  :cherry: SEEG it takes up a whole 8.5 x 11 page.

Actually not a Harley facility at all.  The SEEG tins were painted by a third party contractor called Calibre.  They are in Wisconsin but in Grafton, close to 250 miles from Tomahawk.

Calibre isn't the only third party vendor to do CVO tins.  Harley has shopped that contract a few times (with greater or lesser result).

As of a few months ago anyway, Calibre is still the third party CVO painter of choice for the MOCO.  And no, they won't paint for private individuals...  I've tried... :nixweiss:

After the early SEUC disaster with the vendor in Colorado Mother Harley went back to Calibre.  It's seemed a wise choice as they've been there again for awhile now without nearly the drama that had bene the case previously.  Perhaps even Mother Harley finally figured out that cost crunching short sightedness can cost them more in the long run.

Aside from Wisconsin and Colorado there was also a Mexican vendor in the mix.  Pre-SEEG.  Think I remember the history being they went belly up after biting off more than they could chew attempting SERK paint work.

PPG numbers are 904763 for the base and 904763/1 for the topcoat. It is a tricoat and you will need to do a letdown panel to figure out the correct number of coats of the candy . I painted quite a bit of this color over the years and I dont think Ive had two bikes the exact same yet. Hope this helps!!

Ok attached are some photos of the finished product!

Many thanks to Rhonda Hoffman of Moto Madness in Suffolk, Va.  She matched the paint perfectly and the graphics are flawless as is the overall finish.  If you are in need of a painter in the greater tidewater area, please give her a call at (757) 374-1604.

I also bought the HD wall mount storage rack.  There are others on the market for less, but I don't believe they are as versatile.  Note the tour pack isn't sitting level because the arms on the Corbin backrest are longer than the HD backrest so they hit the wall.  This would be a problem with the other designs I've seen, but there is enough adjustability with this rack to accommodate non-stock applications.  Also note that I hang my solo seat from it as well.

Hey, Pete!  Looks great!  But now I see what you mean about your taillight wrapping around farther than mine.  Holy cow, it sure does!  That's weird that they'd make two different styles like that. :confused5:  I thought they only had the one when I ordered mine.

Actually they make two versions, the one I got is a direct replacement for the old style wrap around light that has cut outs in the tour pack for the corner lamps.  That's the one shown in the catalog.  The second version is the one you have which is used on the CVOs and if you don't have existing cut outs for the old style light.  Quite frankly I didn't know the difference at the time I ordered mine over a year ago.  Other than the wrap around extension, the light is the same.  Actually, the entire light bar illuminates when braking compared to the other version where only the center lamp serves as a brake light.  Don't know why they would be different.
