If you do a search, I believe you can put a 150 on the rear without problems.  I just put ME880's on the front and rear (140) and couldn't be happier with the results.

Everyone has different tire likes.  I like the ME880's because:

1) They do not track road grooves.
2) They handle better.
3) Even requiring more air pressure, they ride better.
4) They go from road surface to another and different road heights a lot better.
5) They are easier to clean (sidewalls).

The only downside I can see is that they are not readily available at HD dealers.

If I bought Dunlops again, I would get the Elite 111's..  With the 402's, the MOCO spent all their tire money allotment on having the HD name imprinted on the side as well as the sidewall grooves and had no money left over for tread design.

One thing about the rear 880's, the 140 has the same load rating as a 402 rear as the 150 does not have a great load rating (no problem if you ride 1 up all the time).

Agree with boatman.  If you want to do a 150 better go from Metzeler to Avon -- their load rating is higher and they have the same great handling that the Metz's do.

150 mounted on an 18x4.25 rim. On some bikes you have to remove the belt guard and on some bikes you don't. Can only answer that by saying that not all Harleys are made equal.
Metzlers seem to last longer for me.

Sounds like I need to dothe 140 to preserve the load rating and stay with Metzlers. I ride solo about 75% of the time and I'm not willing to give up load rating for a little fatter tire> Thanks guys>>> Who has the best deal on Metzler's and is it a smart play to put them on as a set?? Thanks Greg

I replaced front and rear at 9400 miles (the 402's were not wore out, got tired of hearing about the 880's and they were right).  I bought mine in a pair from a independent cycle shop in NW Ohio thru Ebay.  I gave $210 for the pair including shipping.  If you buy from Ebay, email the seller and ask what the date code is on the side of the tire.  Mine were from the spring of this year.  You don't want a tire 2 years old.  Drag Specialties is the distributor.  You should be able to get at least 25% off thru a Drag dealer such as www.mandmcycles.com  ..  Good luck.

my first trip cross country on the harley dunlops I did 6500 miles on the trip and still put an aditional 4000 on the rear tire after the trip..this year I started out with the metzler 880's and did 6400 miles on the trip and was ready for new rubber on the rear when I got home..it went fast....the last few days coming home I was watching it pretty close and you could see a difference after a 500 mile day,,,,think steady highway speeds it could not hold up to the heat like a dunlop,,,,the only reason I could think of,,,for i thought the metzler was the way to go plus I thought the higher tire pressure in the metzler  made a tougher ride,,,,going back to the dunlops next time around,,,,ride-on,,headpan

I have a 160/18 Metzler Radial on the rear of mine with a Renegade Montery 18x4.25" wheel. NO clearance problems. I have a 05 S/E Glide, have a buddy with a 04 Classic with the same wheel/tire combo, no problem. Have about 2500 miles on it, everything is cool. I did have to notch the inside of the plastic belt gaurd, just about a inch where the tire would contact it. I did it "with the curve of the tire" and nobody could tell it were notched if they didn't know. Used a Dremel and it took about 2 minutes. Otherwise a bolt on deal.

don't worry,
it won't be long before the moco offers a 200 tire kit for the roadking.
it will definitely be pricey though.
