Well I just got home a little while ago. Nice little 240 mile ride today. Stopped at my favorite tackle store and BS’ed with the owner for an hour or so, then decided to ride on down to Johnson City to Wrecking Crew HD to look at some new iron. I ended up test riding a 24 Road Glide and a 23.5 CVO Street Glide that some pilgrim had bought then almost immediately traded it in on Whiskey Neat CVO Street Glide. One thing he had done was added 10” bars so I wanted to ride it to see how it felt compared to the 24 Road Glide.

The Road Glide was nice enough I reckon but I still feel like I’m riding a 49 Mercury with a deer throwed over the hood, no offense to those that like them. To me the Street Glide felt a lot better.

The 117 motor felt a little stouter than some pre 24 model 117’s I’ve ridden, and the 121 was stouter still but neither felt as strong as my built and tuned 117. Either one certainly had plenty of power to propel my fat butt around.

All in all it was a much needed fun day in the sunny mountains of WV, VA and TN.

Rode 56 miles over to SMHD on a beautiful sunny day.  Had them install the latest software updates on my 23.5 CVO.  Had a cigar and beer with a friend while they were doing that.  Then took a different route home, very comfortable 76 degrees.

Did 180 mile loop yesterday with just about every twisty road in the county!
Left at 9:30, got back home at 4:00. Stopped at an Irish pub for lunch, good food!

Found out they were having big thunderstorms at home: wind, rain, lightning, hail, etc!
We had dry roads, little wind, cool (58] temps. Guess we took the right route!

One of the girls had heated gear and complained it wasn’t working. Gotta plug it in to work! 🤣

Got back around 1am this morning after completing the St. Patrick's Day Iron Butt ride. 1,111 miles in 20 hours. This one was a little longer than usual because a majority of the route was on state/country roads. Man, it was worth it, though. I had a blast riding through TN and KY. Route 192 "The Rattlesnake" in KY was especially great.
