2012 FLTRXSE.... the 24K review
« on: November 02, 2013, 04:26:38 PM »

Well, its been 24K miles...  :bananarock:

I've owned the bike for 21 months and I'm very happy. No major problems, and I've finally paid for a front and rear tire. (HD tire and wheel warranty rocks!)

Front wheel had a defect, chrome peeling off one of the spokes... replaced.

Upgraded to LRB gold pads as I did on my 09 when time came to replace them.

Well my 12 SERG just hit 31K miles in 23 months, would have been more but I put 10,500 on my 13 SERK

1.  Failed voltage regulator
2.  Replace front rotars, warped once, and need it again
3.  Failed clutch master Cylinder
4.  Failed front brake master cylinder

Thats it, great bike.  Love it.

I'd have far more miles than that if I wasnt stuck on a rock 100 miles around...  :)

I would go crazy if that was all I had.  250 or so miles is a normal Sunday afternoon joy ride.

Mine our not interstate miles but rather back country roads in the hills with lots of good curves.

Mine our not interstate miles but rather back country roads in the hills with lots of good curves.

Try doing that with a population of close to 1M on 596 square miles.. Lots of roads, but lots of other people using them.

On Maui, easy... larger land mass and population of under 200K.

On Hawaii Island easy as well.... even more land mass and less people. However, there is one area that you wont travel at night... (no gas stops at night).

THe money is here, so I stay here. However, I'm 8 years from my earliest retirement date. Maui looks REALLY good as a future. I can do the same work I do here and still generate enough income to build a house on a property I've had my eye on... :)
