I would say after 1994.  I have two 1994 Turbo 2 trailers, both had short tongues. I just lengthened one by 6 inches making it what they are today. Bushtec wanted $385 for a new tongue. I bought the tubes and adjusted this one for around $20.00 and my labor.  Now other models may have gotten a longer tongue earlier but Turbo's did not.

I had a 93 years ago.  It was shorter.  Had a 98 that was longer.  So that jives with the dates suggested so far.

Good info guys, thank you.

My '93 Turbo II was a shorter tongue length than my '95 Genesis.  I know when John and family purchased the Bushtec trailers in 1988 and moved the operation to Jacksboro, they were phasing in some much needed additions/changes/upgrades that included the tongue length.  Tongue length sometime in the 1994/1995 time frame.
