Metzeler 888 or Michelin Commander 2
« on: September 07, 2013, 07:09:10 PM »

As many of you may know by now I am experiencing some handling issues with my 13 cuse8

I also have some experience with using the Metzeler 888's on my previous Ultra.

But I have never used the Michelin Commander 2's. Although I think Michelin makes a high quality product overall

So for those that have run both could you please provide me with your opinions on both, positive or negative?

Thanks

Have run both quite a bit.  Like them both.  Prefer the Commander IIs.  A bit more sure footed in the rain and last longer; at least for me.

Renay just put Commander II's on her Ultra 400 miles ago and she can't believe how much better her MC feels and rides.  She says that they grip the road better and don't try to stand her up in the curves.  She has rode half those miles in the rain and has had no slippage.

Put a Commander II on the front of my cuse7 a couple months ago and will add one to the rear in a few 000 miles when it is due.  Can't tell a lot of difference from just the front being changed but rides and handles just fine.  Reason I changed is hoping to avoid the cupping and/or cracking that seem to plague the Dunlop 407s / 408s.  From everything I've heard and read the Michelins should give you better mileage than the Metzlers and performance on par.
