We are aware of the Hotbike hydraulic chain tensioner because we get tech support calls on it. People then to think it is is a Hayden product when in fact it is not. The problem we most commonly hear is the unit compresses down and does not have the volumn of hydraulic fluid to come back up. We always solve the issue by recommending the replace the unit with a Hayden M6. We've been doing this over 25 years.
Enjoy the ride.

Listen to Kathy. The Hayden M6 absolutely rocks! I've put them on multiple bikes and have never had any failures with them. I have one on Honey Badger now, too. Love it!

How does the hydraulic fluid make the unit unit go back up once it has become compressed?

Apparently it doesn't, thus the calls for support.

Something tells me the hotbikes hyd. tensioner isn't so hot after all. I did a ton of reading about tensioners and couldn't really find anything out about those ... most people love their Hayden from what I've read. I may get one myself down the road, but for now I see nothing wrong with the stock piece.
