A question for non-US owners of '14 KSEs
« on: November 25, 2014, 01:59:58 PM »

As there was no gold key with the '14 models, I note that US owners got some coin-gizmo or other.  Anyone NOT in the US ever receive anything?  (I certainly haven't....)

Don't know what you mean then! "Coin gizmo?"

Everything you should have got or think you should have got is printed in the owners manual,(for US and international orders) as well as on the handover/check sheet given to you by your dealer!
Got all my goodies anyroad. :pepper:

US purchasers got some kind of a coin thing that (from memory) gives them discounted admission to the HD .museum.  This took the place of the gold key - which was brass of course - from previous years.  It followed later.  That is it was not one of the items that came with the bike at delivery.  All of which suggests that you didn't get all of the items you should have (and neither did I.)

Nop that's right we didn't get this, but unfortunately we weren't meant to get this either! together with I believe the map updates for the sat nav, and the garage remote you'll find.

The coin /museum thing would have been no good to us ,unless your over in the states anyway.
the manual I believe has an asterix mark on the items that are omitted on the international bikes.

You're wrong I'm afraid! I've had a map update.  And this thing was in place of the gold key - which we have always had.  (This is my fourth CVO Glide), Though you are correct about the garage door opener we have never been meant to get that.

If it bothers you that much I suggest you March down to your dealer and demand this coin thingy that you think you are missing!

Personally couldn't give a damn, I don't need badges ,medallions ,trinkets, gold keys or whatever to prove where I've been, or achieved ,rather speak to people instead and tell em!,
Getting a new 15 Cvo soon anyroad ( my 5th Cvo), get the latest maps on that already installed!

Hope you get your "coin thingy." :P

You're missing the point  -  it's not a dealer supplied item. And you'll find your "latest" maps are still woefully out of date.  You are still entitled to one free upgrade when they do get round to releasing one though.

I Cant make any sense of what you say!,  :confused5:
If its not a dealer supplied item then why do you think you should have had it from them in the first place?, you never got it because you weren't meant to! it has no use to you in the UK, and is clearly stated on my paper work as "not included on international models"
, the "latest"map/or upgrade you say youv'e had done, yet now your saying they haven't got round to releasing them yet! ........go figure!

"Go figure"?  WTF?  Not the Queen's English!  ;D  Sorry if I'm being unclear, I'll try to make it more "go figurable":

1) FLHTKSE owners (unlike non CVO owners) are entitled to one free upgrade to the maps.
2) Contrary to what you think, that includes we international owners.
3) I've had my free upgrade (plainly you have not, as you still think we don't get them) to the latest released version (came out in Aug or Sep)
4) This latest release version is still a couple of years out of date
5) Your 15 CVO will come with the latest map release. That may or may not be the one I mention, but despite being the latest release, the maps will still be a couple of years or thereabouts behind.

Is that clearer now?  Again, apologies if I was confusing you.   :drink: :drink:

Now, on to the coin thing.  Whatever it is. Not mentioned on my paperwork at all - care to post a scan of yours where it says "not included on international models"?  Seems to be at odds with this:  http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=88887.msg1198713#msg1198713

Jealous of your location, down south where riding to the continent isn't a major journey, unlike here.  So, where have you been on your bike that's interesting?

Cheers,

Jim

Err.... thanks for the rude and hostile reply.  I don't see any need for your insults - friendly board here, and you've done nothing except be unhelpful and rude.  I'll put it down to you having a bad day.  Sorry to have bothered you.

Theres nothing friendly in any of your posts!!, just patronising insults and quips from a from a so called "know it all!"
Just thought i would answer your last reply in the same manner as all of yours have been, simple answers to stupid questions!

If you cant take insults then don't give them to start with :huepfenlol2:, and i wouldn't include yourself as part of the "friendly board" by any stretch of the imagination.

good bye .............end of thread!

You really are an arsehole, aren't you?  You think you're an expert on everything, but looking at your posts, you know SFA about anything.  Your command of English spelling and grammar is about on par with a 6 year old with special needs, and everyone is "bud" or "buddy". You think the word "asterisk" is spelled "Asterix" like the guy in your Asterix the Gaul comics. You come out with stuff like "This also have a bearing on the rolling race of a vehicles tyre diameter" - you must be the only person on the planet to know what a "rolling race" is, and understand that sentence. You think a brake pedal is called a "break peddle". You seem - particularly at 39 - to be more the type who'd be riding around in a Vauxhall Corsa wearing a Burberry baseball cap.  I'm not sure you've ever even owned a moped, never mind a Harley..... Let's see:

You've had 5 CVOs, but you were surprised that UK ones came without smoked lenses, fender medallion, tourpak sidelights etc.  Always been the case, so should have been the case on your previous ones. If you'd owned any.

You didn't know that the USB drive replaced the iPod that came with previous models, and thought it replaced the gold key.

You have this "paper work" [sic] that shows the commemorative coin that came with 14 KSEs doesn't come with international models, but you don't have a bike, since you sold it in June.  But wait!  In an October thread you said that your FLHTKSE was just like American models now....   So you sold it in June (a few weeks old) but you still had it in October?

And, having finally got your FLHTKSE in late April, you sold it in June.  Must have really packed in the miles on that one, to be able to "speak to people instead" (let's hope you can speak better English than you can write!) to explain where you've been and what you've achieved, as in "I don't need badges ,medallions ,trinkets, gold keys or whatever to prove where I've been, or achieved" [sic]

And of course, there's CVO2: "2014 CVO Road King"  that you list.  Hang on though, looks like you don't have that one either as in August you were "selling" that one too, with less than 1000 miles on. Yes, you really must go places and achieve things!  Dreamer.

I'm not a "so-called" (by whom, other than you, the self confessed expert?) "know it all" or I wouldn't be asking questions and looking for sensible answers from somebody who actually knows, would I?  But I've been riding since long before you were even a tadpole in your dad's ball-bag, and I certainly know more than you do.

If you HAVE ever owned a Harley, I'd be surprised. I wonder why there's not a single picture of these bikes in any of your posts?  Have you even got a bike licence?

Fsck off back to your dreaming sonny, there's a good chap.  You're not wanted around here.  "Wild Hog" indeed.  :D :D :D
