Back on 2 wheels!
« on: October 15, 2015, 08:18:25 AM »

Well after undergoing knee surgery a couple years ago and converting my 2010 CVO Ultra to a trike with a Hannigan kit, all is well again and I picked up my new ride on Saturday.  Loved the trike but nothing like the riding enjoyment on just 2.  Now I get to wait until Feb to head to Florida for a couple months and have Doc install the Fullsac's, TTS, and Dyno tune.  You really have to get the Black Licorice and Cobalt in the sun to get the awesome effect of this color.

Great all went well with your surgery.

Color is great and the chrome looks fantastic with that combination.

Best of luck.

What a gorgeous bike!!   Got any close up pics in the sun?

First thanks to everyone for the comments!
Tony I just can't capture the reflective color in a picture that the your eyes get.  It gives you a different color reflection at each angle you look at it.  I am getting a blue, gold metallic, to supple purple reflections from the licorice, and blue metallic from the cobalt.  In low light the licorice looks straight black.  I have had some "holy crap" comments from friends as they got closer to the bike and seen the color reflections.  I have a couple coats of Wolfgang Fuzion Wax on it now and the color is getting deeper with each coat.
There has been some comments on the site regarding paint quality, but I can't find a single flaw on mine.  There was also some comments that Gunslinger may not be doing the paint anymore but mine has a Gunslinger inspection sticker signed off in the rear bag.

Hi Fred,

Thanks for the feedback..  I have the Hard Candy Mercury now and am strongly thinking of changing to this color.

Forget the pics, cameras do a really poor job with color rendition..  When looking at the Black Licorice in the sun what color flecks do your eyes see?  Also, how about the colors in the tribal??

Many thanks in advance..

Tony

Tony
Licorice- Silver and Gold Metallic.  Reflection of Blue and Purple
Cobalt Flames- Silver/Blue Metallic
Note as well that in many areas of the flames there is a seamless (blending) transition from the Licorice to the Cobalt
The colors are very light and angle dependent as to what you see.  It's a very hard color to describe and you need to see it.  In my garage it looks like a black bike with blue flames and then pull it outside, let the sun hit it and Wow!

Congratulations Fred on being back up on two wheels.  :2vrolijk_21:

I can relate to what that's like.  Since joining this forum I was in a bad accident that laid me up for a couple years, artificial hip, metal plates in my jaw, arm and leg and the subsequent surgeries that went with that.  Then again more recently I was off the bike again for a couple of years due to back issues.  From the Street Glide to an Ultra Classic and a couple medical procedures and I'm back up and riding again.

So I know well what you're feeling to get back in the saddle.  Enjoy the rides...... :bananarock:
