Fairing vent cover
« on: April 26, 2016, 07:46:32 AM »

So, i'm riding my new 2016 CVO Limted, less than 200 miles, this past weekend and the front fairing vent cover goes flying over my head. The dealership has ordered me another one. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Thanks.

First time I've heard of this happening.  I'm curious to the responses that you get.  Maybe this has happened and nobody has posted it.

I would think a few things may fly off when going just under 200, one of which my be my helmet, seems to act like a parachute above 100

:confused5:    Which part actually flew off, the bezel on the outer fairing, or the one on the inner fairing, or perhaps the actual door that adjusts airflow?

There's a lot to be said for the good old "screw everything together" method, versus the modern "double sided tape or plastic locking tabs" method to attach parts.

It was the color matched bezel. The tabs looked like they were still intacked, but it would not snap back in

The dealer got the new one and applied a better 3m tape. So we'll see if it can hang on.
