I was planning a 48-10 leaving Slidell LA on 14MAY and ending in OR, then riding down the coast to the George A. Wyman Inaugural Ride from SFO to NYC. http://forum.ironbutt.org/index.php?threads/a-challenging-long-distance-event.36/
However, work is interfering with the 48-10, maybe next year or a little later this year. I have some good work and I can't pass it up.

Much of that route is almost exactly what I took. From LA all the way to WI and the i40 section. If you want to try to get a saddle sore in there it's easy on that i40 section. But set it so you that you end it before you drop down after Flagstaff.

And don't be afraid of 2 lane out west. You can make great time, speeds are 70/75 and way less trucks.
