WheelDock EZ-Up Center Stand
« on: March 31, 2008, 03:57:39 PM »

Just some pics of new stand I got for 30th B-day.  Works very nice and easy to install, jack still goes under bike w/no problem.

Yep, I have the same center stand on my 08 SEUC.  Works great!

Been interested in getting one of these. I have a color matched frame (red) I toyed with the idea of painting the stand to match, but would prefer not to suffer the expense. When retracted, how visible is it? I see the pic with the chrome tip sticking out. I'm thinking more from a rear angle looking between tire and frame.

Its really not that noticeable when retracted. If you have chrome pass. boards, I'd get the chrome unit. Give them a call, maybe they'd powdercoat one red to match and leave the lever chrome. This is the only pic you can see from the rear and you really can't see it well.

I don't forsee any problems, but I haven't really gone for any "good" rides since I put it on. I'll post if it ever scrapes. Maybe Rebel has some input on this.

No problems with clearance.  I drag my footboards, but the center stand has never touched.

okay....  next silly question.  There was discussion about a different center stand a while back, and as I recall it was adjustable, but maybe not adjustable enough, and I think it cost a good bit more.  Is this a better deal? and why?

As I recall the picture of the other, (which I can't seem to find and I don't remember who made it I 'm so sorry but i think I may be getting senile and even though i looked for it i still can't seem to find the damned thing and then I get distracted and i forget what i was looking for and then I have to come back here and start all over but there are so damned many pretty pictures of...  oops!  i did it again), it looked a lot heavier and more complicated.  This one looks pretty much to the point without a lot of extra stuff going on./  (which I woudl prolly like a lot better...)    :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2: :2vrolijk_21:

Don't recall the other stand either, HD makes one that is around $330. If you click on the videos linked to wheeldock's website you can see how easy it is to stand up and take down. I think the lever on this one is longer making it easier to get bike on stand. This one also doesn't bring the rear wheel completely off the ground, but if you want to clean the rear rim you can place a piece of 1/2 inch ply under the middle of bike and then put down stand so it raises back tire off the ground. when the bike is up it is very solid and takes up alot less garage space. Plus my wife can now get on the bike before I do and all I have to do to get it off the stand is drive away.

I'm sold.  My last bike was a Gold Wing and I only used the center stand.
