There is a fairing with speakers for the 2010 FLSTSE
« on: July 30, 2011, 06:09:57 PM »

I found the following link to Tsukayu.  It has a new fairing for the 2010 CVO Softail Convertible.  Not really happy with the look but it is a start. What do you think? :nixweiss:

I also found the same fairing at Dragulacycle for $399.00 but you have to provide your own speakers and form of music.

I wonder how it will look with the Convertibles smaller head light. The usual headlight on the softail is larger.

I had a fairing from Dragonfly put on and didn't like it. It sat too high (could barely see over it). the weight see a factor too, it affects the steering on softtails.

I but the bullet and ordered the 2012 windshied, lower deflectors and GPS mount (the outer emblem and inner bracket only)  for my 2010 fairing. Over time I may decide to add the sound system but it's a bit pricey when you oder it piece by piece.

I keep thinking that someone who can form plastic or is skilled with fiberglass can mold up a bolt on custom piece that will hold the speakers and the small amp. Another alternative is to fab up a nice looking mounting bracket for one of the self enclosed speakers with the built in amp. Anything to keep the speakers in the fairing and off the bars would work.

I did the same thing.  I also have a 2010 with the 2012 wind shield.  I listen to music through bluetooth headset.  I'd still like to add the factory sound system, however.  It is pricey, but I may bite the bullet.

RCFlyer,

I just got all the parts for the 2012 winshield and plan to install this weekend. I read on an older post there is some drilling needed for the lower deflectors. Since you did this install already on your 2010 can you elaborate and/or share some pics on what was done?

Thanks,

MikeV

I don't have any photos.  What I did was clamp them on and put masking tape on.  Then I drilled them out to size.
