No special trick.  For ease of initial programming you don't have to have the receiver hooked up to the bike.  You can just plug it in and stand there next to the bike while rocking the headlight switch.

If it doesn't work the one simple problem that might exist (has existed for a couple of others) that doesn't require a parts replacement is the pigtail from the headlight plug to the remote transmitter inside the fairing.  Make sure it's plugged in.

Aside from a problem with power or signal to the transmitter the system either programs or it doesn't.  And if it doesn't one of the two parts is bad.

I had a non-functioning problem with mine at first also. It turned out that one of the wires in the connector hooked to the module in the fairing was not properly seated in the connector. Fixed that, and all is well.

Good luck.

How namy bikes can be hooked up to one opener.

Having a little trouble getting the Cherry to work.

The opener is from the 04 SEEG which is still hooked to it.
The FLHX, I only bought the module in the fairing, so it was never mated to another opener.

The Cherry was connected to it's own opener. I want to mate it up with the 04's opener.

Two for sure. Both mine and AJ's are hooked to our door. Now there's no way to keep him out. ;)

How about a sign on the door stating,

"Chief and Pinky have left town.
If you want work done you will
have to do it yourself"

He may come but he will not stay long!

Does anybody know if you can get alternatives other than Harley that is designed for bikes. In Europe; The garage port opener is not included with the CVO's. That is probalbly due to AC difference. :nixweiss:

Mine worked fine for two years, then suddenly quit. Tried resetting it as per the manual instructions, but it still did not work. However, the LED would go out when I toggled the high beam switch so I thought something must be happening. I unplugged the receiver for a few minutes and then plugged it back in and tried the procedure again. Now it works OK. I wonder if unplugging the receiver may have "reset" its circuitry. Whatever - it works and I did not have to take the outer fairing off.

My receiver unit in the shop proved to have gotten confused once after a power strike in the area.  Was too lazy to climb up and unplug it though.  Just threw the breaker for that circuit and drank a beer before turning it back on.  Didn't have to wait that long.  But it was a good excuse to drink a beer :2vrolijk_21: .
