SEUC Tour Pack Light
« on: May 28, 2007, 04:54:57 PM »

OK, under the "I didn't know I had one of these" category.

Read in another post about this and went out and looked and I'll be dam***!  Good news is I have one, the bad news is I do not think it is working!

Is this supposed to come on each time the pack is opened? Switch on?  I checked the CUSE service manual and the owners manual.  Could not find much about it other than is is LED and must be replaced if not working ( cannot just change out a bulb)

Someone show me the light, or do I need to put this on my list for the 1000 mile service check?

Igofar just answered the question in another thread.

Someday I'll be able to help someone out here.  For now, I will just keep asking easy to answer questions :P

Don't feel bad, Cman.  A friend invited me over to look at his wife's spiffy new tour pack & give advice on wiring (scary huh - asking me for wiring advice) and both he & she seemed surprised to learn that the little plastic doohickey in the lid of the tour pack was ..... ta da! ... a light.   :huepfenjump3:

I found the switch for the Tour Pak light- Use your fingernail and press right in the center of the light. The dealer told me mine was burned out (from the factory) but I found the switch tonight. It will not turn off when you close the lid  :( but at least it works!

It took me a while to figure out that I wasn't going to break the lens by pushing harder.

Tim, CONGRATS on the finidings!
However, one other tid-bit of information...if you press it again...it WILL shut off.

OH..and one other piece of info...if you close your tour pak and forget to shut it off....the light has a timer and will shut off about about 5 minutes....shhh...its our secret.   ;D

Enjoy the ride.  Now, go out there and show everyone that light!!  Educate them all..

RIDE!!!

It might be working.  They're not on a mercury switch so don't go off just because the lid closes.  You can turn it off manually.  Or if left on they'll go off after a set period of minutes.

Isn't that scary when the dealer doesn't even know how to work a simple light in the tour pak. Kind of like when they don't know the answer so they give ya (that's normal) answer.
