Lock sets, ignition, bags, tourpak etc.
« on: July 24, 2007, 04:29:03 PM »

If you are in need of an individual lock for your bike and the dealer can't find it in the parts book, have them bring up this bulletin:

P&A no. 658B

I recently ordered a lock for my new tourpak and got a complete bike lock set, and the wrong key code to boot.
Anyway, the individual tourpak lock is not listed in the parts book with a separate number. The picture shows just the lock, but the number listed is for a kit.

Thanks for the info porthole.
I have just discovered that the spring that opens the Tour Pak latch and keeps it open so you can just shut the lid has broken on the end and I have to manually move the catch up so the lid bar can go in the lower part of the lock. I guess the whole lock assembly will need to be replaced not just the spring? Oh well at least it's under warranty unless they say my mods on the pipes and air cleaner voids the Tour Pak warranty? :huepfenlol2:

VA,

You have the leather tourpak, so I don't know.

That particular bulletin is dated 10/18/04 and covers models from 1991-2005.
But, that doesn't mean there is not a similar bulletin for the newer models, you just need someone to take the time to look into it. At least having this bulletin can help someone to convince the parts guy to look a little deeper.

OK you are right I will check for the 2006 part number. Thanks.
I just looked in my 2006 FLHTCUSE parts catalog and no springs listed seperately but they may be in the Latch Mechanism #79139-06
