I think it is also a safety issue. Have you ever been behind a 06 or 07 on a dark night? Can't see the damn things, which is when they look their best. ;D I think it is great MoCo wised up and dropped them for the 08's.
Like everything else, you customize.  You can see my SEUC just fine from behind at night.  8)

Mine too, RD...

The leather TP is what sets those two model years apart from all other Ultras.  The capacity (I don't have the cubic inches held data) is probably 2/3 to 3/4 of the King TP, if not more, it's easy to put the LED strip lighting on the back.  It's distinctive looking, regardless of which way you feel about it.  It also flows with the lines of the bike, IMO.

Terry, agree with you on the distinctive look.  But then again, with all the sweet additions you've made to your SEUC, yours is in a distinctive class by itself. :2vrolijk_21: That is one sweet ride you have.

I like my 07 leather TP, but we also noticed a bit less space and discomfort packing for long trips....sorta miss my King TP too, I had one on my 03 Anniversary UC.  The pics out there of King TPs painted to match the SE paint themes looks great ! For now, I'll keep the leather unit....it's new and until it fades or wrinkles like my Grandma...she's gonna stay on for a while :huepfenjump3:

My King Tour Pack came in just in time for our 10 day trip.  It was great to have the additional space.  I liked the look of the Leather but hated the size.

I got the Backrest that matches the seat & used my Speaker Pods from the Lather Tour Pack.

Here is what it looks like.

Nice KTP.  :2vrolijk_21:  The size challenge of the leather TP just made us get creative.  We roll everything we put in there and use a TP rack bag.  Having the leather TP also cut down on how much 'waxing' I have to do.  Glare leather & vinyl protectant works wonders on the TP.  Plus, I'm not so sure a black KTP would match too well on my Watermelon like it does on your Haze.  Good job!!!   :2vrolijk_21:

I like the Leather tour pak, has anyone fitted a badge on the back to break up that black area.   I saw a nice oval Screamin Eagle one on e bay, but I don't know how to fix it without it becoming permanent.
Any Ideas ?

I enjoy the looks of the leather. When I travel, I remove the liners for more room. I also like the latch system better than the two latches - that I sometimes forgot to snap.

Andy,
Barry (displacing air) and Terry (TCnBham) both have that medallion on the rear portion of their tour pak lids.  I've seen others do it as well, however it looks to be a permanent mount.  Not sure how to do it any other way.
