A local dealership is offering a 2 year extension to the original 2 year factory warranty (which expires in April of 2008), for $995.  Or, an offer on a 3 year extension for $1150.  I'm curious as to what your thoughts on that are.  Is this a good deal or even worth while to get?  I haven't done a lot of research, but I thought I've seen some threads saying that there is some dealership in Chicago that is very competitive with the extended warranties.  Does anyone know anything about that?

Sounds pretty good from what I see.  I paid $1599 for an extended 3 years.  Maybe I'll cancel mine and buy it from your source? Can you state the dealership?

The difference in cost/price may be because I believe pulvs1 is getting this on a used bike (2006 SEUC from what I'm reading from his previous posts).

Yes, that is correct.  I am purchasing a used 2006 CVO Ultra.  This is part of the offer, but I wanted to confirm if there is another source that would be a better value.  Like I mentioned, I thought that I saw a thread with some discussion about a place in Chicago.

If it was me, I would get the three yr extra at 1150 about the only thing it covers would be the motor everything else is a wear item if something should fail in the motor $1150 would be a drop in the bucket to open it up much less put it back together.

Then it also depends on how many miles you get to ride a year living where you do, Your engine will sit more under warranty than it will be being used. You may be better off saving the money for fuel and lodging and going to CVO events than three riding months you get than buying the warranty

Yeah, she probably won't know the 103t part, but just tell her you're friends with the guys (me and Spydeglide) who bought the 2 SEEG front fenders from her a couple months ago.

It sounds like a good deal for the extended service contract.  Like I mentioned in another thread where you asked the question, see if you can get the tire/wheel hazzard warranty also.  The extended service contract is basically identical to the factory warranty, except you pay a $50 deductable per visit.  It covers all electrical and mechanical aspects of the bike.  I have the 7-year extended on my Jester and the tire/wheel road hazard warranty.  It set me back about $1800, but IMHO, worth the peace of mind that it brings.
